Just got my BFP tonight after a mmc in Jan. Due Nov and I know that it'll be another girl, as dp has two girls from prev marriage and two with me!

I've got oldest dd who is not named after the wife-beating lager and dd2 who is not named after the main female character in Superman...you still with me??

What do you think to Nova, I'd quite like to have star connection with dd3's name?

I like Astra too (I know car connection too), but maybe Astrid...?

Give me some suggestions, please ladies. I know it'll take me another 8.5 months to decide!!

I like Nova

Gargula · 08/03/2010 19:24

Hi,
My first car was a Nova and I wouldn't be able to get that out of my head at all!

Love Astrid tho.

foreverastudent · 08/03/2010 19:37

Astrid is great.

lifeas3plus1 · 08/03/2010 19:45

Nova is great.

lifeas3plus1 · 08/03/2010 19:46

Oh and congratulations!

menomena · 08/03/2010 19:54

Not too keen on Nova - the sound is pretty but it sounds too much like a brand name. Reminds me of Novamatic Casino as well as the car. I like Niamh for a similar sound but then you lose the star connection.

Astrid is cute.

Estelle would be nice but I guess too close to use?

Maris, Lyra, Tara, Dara, Danica, Seren, Esther? Apparently they mean star.

janeiteisFedUp · 08/03/2010 19:56

Sorry but Nova is awful. Astrid much, much better.

janeiteisFedUp · 08/03/2010 19:57

I don't get the wife-beating thing.

Oh and congrats!

cupofteaplease · 08/03/2010 20:11

Congratulations!!

Out of your two names I prefer Astrid. But I also like Seren (Welsh for star I think??) How about Etoile? (Again, French for star I think!) Or Carina, which is the name of a constellation, and also Italian for cute/sweet, so that is also pretty.

If it can just be a tenuous link, how about Leah, from Starwars?

BorisTheBold · 08/03/2010 20:47

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Can't use Seren, as it's dd2's middle name. Etoile, is nice, but not so nice with my broad Scottish accent .

Nova is beyond awful but Astrid is fab. Cograts

suwoo · 08/03/2010 20:55

Cograts wasn't a name suggestion BTW, just a pisshead trying to type congrats

Good work and thanks for the no alcohol reminder too!
