Would these initials bother you?

Thinking of naming our soon-to-be-born baby Leo Oscar, but as our surname begins with a P he would have the initials LOP. Would that be an issue? Our other fave was Oscar Alexander, which has been vetoed due to OAP initials!
(Oscar is a family name BTW).

What do you think?

fine

DD was almost ARS

can't think why it would be an issue! And if he turned out to be a tree surgeon it could be an advantage.

All initials could mean something. My DS ended up with something which, with abbreviations I'd forgotten about, could read GBH. But hey ho!

I have a GLC (one for the older Southerners) and a PLC. Never been any comment.

And dd's first names are GFI - which has caused some amusement but which she likes.

None of this was noticed until too late to do anything about it.

i have only ever once known of someone being embarrassed by their initials, my bf were bo!

my dds are ak i hope she never realises that its a gun!

Mumcentreplus · 07/03/2010 00:57

can't really see it as an issue..many way funnier/weirder ..like BUM,CRAK,ARS,KNOB,SOB..

randomimposter · 07/03/2010 11:15

Fine for LOP - DS is WAM, or BAM using his NN...

myfirstbump · 07/03/2010 11:25

I think LOP is fine. It doesn't scream anything obvious at me.

If we have a girl she might be a DFS, which we still can't decide if we have a problem with or not. It might depend on how cruel funny we feel on the day...

ShadeofViolet · 07/03/2010 12:19

I have a NOB which I didnt think about until afterwards.

nancy75 · 07/03/2010 12:25

my initials are NOB, the n is my first name and the ob is my surname so i do have to use all three letters, it causes people a bit of a grin but has never been a problem

sparkle09 · 07/03/2010 12:51

my DD nearly had MDF, we decided against it and went for something else.

but i would say LOP would be ok, not something many people could make a joke out of.

Wilts · 07/03/2010 12:59

My initials are CAC, this amuses my best friend no end . I have never really had a problem with it though.

stinkypinky · 07/03/2010 13:03

My brother has an A.I.D.S. Did not realise ever - I mentioned it when kid was 10! He was shocked and felt very stupid for never noticing.

BuzzingNoise · 07/03/2010 13:14

That wouldn't bother me at all.

StrictlyKatty · 07/03/2010 14:29

I thinks my sons sound like a illness but noone ever really says your initials or even really looks at them so I really wouldn't worry.

Plus LOP is kinda cute I think, like those Lop rabbits you can get.
