Like both but prefer Iris. I actually like nn Vi.

I love most of the 'flower' names, my own dd3 has one...they're very popular in our family ...Ivy, Iris, Violet (Vi) and Rose...not so keen on Iris, but that may be because I wasn't too fond of my relative Iris (she'd have been 80+).

Violet because it feels cheekier than Iris.

ChynaDoll2006 · 03/03/2010 13:25

Violet, although it reminds me slightly of Violent. Better than Iris, though.

cyteen · 03/03/2010 13:27

Violet is gorgeous. You could always go for nn Lettie.

I like both, but prefer Iris (and i think it goes better with the others)

AllieW · 03/03/2010 17:22

Iris. Violet reminds me of violent and also Violet Elizabeth Bott from the Just William stories (who threatened to scream and scream and scream until she was "thick").

jennylindinha · 03/03/2010 17:30

Iris - but then I have one! And she is very cheeky...

audley · 03/03/2010 20:46

Tough choice, both were on our short lists but have boys, I think Iris with your others.

lycheemartini · 03/03/2010 21:13

Love both - you can have nickname Lottie or Lettie for Violet, not sure what nickname for Iris though? Think Iris goes better with DDs but could choose either.

dizzydixies · 03/03/2010 21:31

both lovely

telsa · 03/03/2010 21:49

Violet is such a gorgeous name - very luxurious and also sweet . Lettie or Lettice is a cute nn.

pointydog · 03/03/2010 22:04

Violet

LittlePushka · 03/03/2010 22:46

Violet is too like violent for my ears,... and I get annoyed with myself because it is such a beautiful colour. Iris is pretty and a beatiful flower too!

mathanxiety · 03/03/2010 23:23

With one DD named Daisy already, I wouldn't be too keen on a floral name, although Iris is also Greek, so maybe it would work. Would you consider a tree name, like Willow, Laurel, or Hazel instead?

LittlePushka · 04/03/2010 14:43

Love Laurel!!

frogetyfrog · 04/03/2010 14:46

Love Violet.

steph1512 · 04/03/2010 20:18

wow thanks pretty much seems to be an even vote so far and no one yet to say they completely dislike either

have thought of willow before..but i love plower names so always seem to come back to them.

Mmmm not finding this choice easy
