Michael

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2010 13:50

Christina- not keen really. Seems a bit sensible shoes and 3 bed semi in the suburbs.

Annabel- Very pretty name and lots of potential for nicknames but suffers slightly from popularity, especially against the similar Isobel/Isabelle contingent

Ruth- good, strong, beautiful name

Constance- Great name. Constance is feisty and headstrong

Pippa- nickname and a horsey one at that

Michael- okay, not going to set the world on fire

Leo- no but I don't know why

Robin- I dislike this too, but possibly because it's unisex, albeit with a different spelling

David- good solid name, but again doesn't stand out as anything special or remarkable

remaincalm · 01/03/2010 13:51

I like Annabel, Pippa and Leo

seeker · 01/03/2010 13:51

All OK, but Phillippa and Robert, with Pippa and robin as shortenings, I think.

Love Constance, but just to warn you, it was on my shortlist for DD and every time I mention this she howls with outrage and says she would have left home by now if I had called her it!

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2010 13:52

If you like Christina and Annabel, what about Christabel?

Prinpo · 01/03/2010 13:56

All good. Faves are Ruth, Pippa and Robin (although you'd have to be happy with Rob as abbreviation, which I wouldn't be).

ChynaDoll2006 · 01/03/2010 13:59

Like Michael and Leo

nickelbabe · 01/03/2010 14:11

Robin sounds like it should only suit boys, but i know a Robin who is an old man and it really suits him. and the other Robin i've known for 20 years since teenage-dom and it's always worked.
he's never been a Rob.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/03/2010 14:42

I love Christina

Like Constance (Connie)

Like Leo and David

minipie · 01/03/2010 16:06

Love Robin
Like Leo and David

Sunshinemummy · 01/03/2010 16:30

Christina - not keen
Annabel - OK
Ruth - OK
Constance - OK but I knew someone called Connie and all her male friends made up a rude nickname for her
Pippa - love this

Michael- not keen
Leo - love
Rob in - not keen
David - not keen

birdofthenorth · 01/03/2010 17:36

Love Ruth, like Pippa

Leo is lovely from your boys list

hildegarde · 01/03/2010 18:47

My favourites are Ruth, Michael and Robin.
Christina is nice too.

Constance is a bit hard to say - it's that "nst" bit which is a bit clumsy - so it feels a bit prissy to me.

Bleenherbe · 01/03/2010 18:48

Constance and Leo

zozzle · 01/03/2010 18:49

Love Ruth, like Constance and Christina

Not keen on your boys names (Michael ok)

RachieB · 01/03/2010 21:23

Leo & Annabel

libertybear · 02/03/2010 12:19

Thank you - so pleased not a chorus of hating them all. I thik we are veering to Constance for a girl (it was dh's great grandmother's name as well) and Leo for a boy but boys are hardest as I love David but maybe it is like calling a boy Brian or Colin - ie men in their 40s, not babies

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/03/2010 12:23

Love Constance and Pippa
Like Robin

loobylu3 · 02/03/2010 13:40

I like:
Constance (love), then Annabel (v pretty)

Leo or Michael

doubleexpresso · 02/03/2010 13:51

Lovely list of names. If I had to choose I'd go for Pippa or Annabel, Leo or David.
