What do you think of Harriet? I'm starting to really like it but wanted some second opinions!

Harriet Eleanor? Harriet Imogen? Something else?

I love Harriet.
The only thing with middle names that begin with a vowel is that the 't' from the end of Harriet rolls into it so it sounds a bit like Harrier Teleanor.
I love the name Imogen and Eleanor too, though - are you sure you're not me?

janeite · 26/02/2010 23:41

It's lovely, with Hattie as a nn. I wanted it for dd2 but dp didn't like it. I think it needs something fairly sweet and simple as a middle name.

Harriet Daisy
Harriet Belle
Harriet Claire

roxanne08 · 26/02/2010 23:48

Its the only girls name I really like if i had a DD she would be Harriet Lily or Harriet Lilian.

RoseWater · 27/02/2010 00:05

Love it - I know three ages 12, 6 and 1 - only one is regularly shortened to Hattie.

Middle names are Louise, Victoria - not sure about the other

menomena · 27/02/2010 03:38

Thanks - nice to get a positive reaction! I really like the suggestion of Harriet Lily. Also thought of Harriet Lucy but think I love Lucy too much to "waste" it as a middle name where it will hardly be seen.

Harriet is actually really nice....DH has vetoed tho....Harriet Lily is nicest suggestion. softens it somehow....

littledawley · 27/02/2010 07:49

I know a Harriet Rose- she is delightful! Spunky and sweet

Polly1987 · 27/07/2010 11:34

I agree with you menomena about not wasting Lucy as a middle. I have two sisters called Harriet and Lucy, both lovely names and very jealous! Lovely choice of first name, my sister Harriets middle name is Liberty??!

BelligerentGhoul · 27/07/2010 11:36

Love it - wanted it for dd2 but dp wouldn't let me. She would have been Harriet Daisy or Harriet Posey, with Hattie for a nn.

It's much nicer than Lucy!!

fudgesmummy · 27/07/2010 12:32

My Daughter is Harriet Amy which I love!!!

PaintingTheFence · 27/07/2010 12:39

I like it

JosephineClaire · 27/07/2010 13:03

Harriet/Hattie May?

Kathleen123 · 27/07/2010 14:15

I like the name Harriet, but personally dont like Hattie as a nickname. Prefer Harry (quite like boys names as nicknames for girls).

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 21:13

I have a Harriet Caroline. I love it and it's not that common yet.

mumtojohn · 28/07/2010 15:58

Harriet is lovely. There is a Harriet at work and she is a total babe. One of the prettiest girls I have ever seen. Made me think about using it for DC2 in Nov!

zenoushka · 28/07/2010 16:45

Harriet Lily is really nice.

Raahh · 28/07/2010 16:50

Love it-was my great gran's name and would have been a contender for dd- but i have an Elliot, so bit too much together.

Imogen is the middle name we have picked for dd2 , due October.

Very good choice all round!

proudfoot · 30/07/2010 21:45

Harriet Lily or Harriet Lucy

SE13Mummy · 30/07/2010 22:00

I have a Harriet Mary so am slightly biased.... it's a great name!

My Harriet also goes by Hattie, Hattie May (May being short for Mary which was my Grannie's name but May is DH's grandmother's name) or Hattiecake (like pat-a-cake but not quite ) and loves her name. She's the only Harriet in her school (of 400 ish) but occasionally encounters another one when we're out and about and is always rather pleased when this happens.

One of the reasons we chose it is that we liked the variety of nicknames and we actually liked the nicknames too e.g. Hattie, Harrie/y, Hats whereas we couldn't agree on nicknames for other names we rather liked.

Helokitty · 30/07/2010 22:08

Love it. Love Hattie as a nn too.

poshsinglemum · 30/07/2010 22:25

Love it; and Hattie.

dexifehatz · 03/08/2010 22:14

I have a Hattie Hope who's now 12.Her actual name is Hattie and I find it strange how many people ask if her 'real' name is actually Harriet. She goes by Hatzi, Hattietat,Hats and has never encountered another one at school. She too loves it when she hears someone else with her name. It's a bugger finding something with her name on tho'!!!!

Oldjolyon · 03/08/2010 22:48

Love it.

Ineedsomesleep · 03/08/2010 22:49

Really like it.

JaynieB · 03/08/2010 22:52

I like it a lot, but am always reminded of a girl I knew at Uni called Harriet who got nicknamed Hairy Arse - which was not kind
