Any suggestions pretty please

Been a MN lurker for a long time but never posted before. Have one daughter and just found out that number 2 is going to be a girl also. DD number 1 is Matilda Rose and looking for ideas for names and middle names that go with that. Names that have been bandied about seem to be names that we can't totally agree on. DH likes Emily, I'm not fussed. I like Martha, he's not fussed. I like Stella but not sure it 'goes' with Matilda, also DH says it makes him think of Stella McCartney which makes him go bleugh. Looking for inspiration please Thanks

Would we be better of steering clear of another 3 syllable, ending in 'a' name. Matilda and Lydia, I think it's a bit sing songy if that makes any sense? Lydia is the sort of name my immediate reaction is hmmmm, really not sure but then seems to grow a little bit. Not keen on Pearl so much, can't put my finger on reason why as can't see that ever growing on me like say Lydia might? Funny how names can do that.

Agreed on the Martha thinking, perhaps why DH isn't so keen. It was one I liked originally for DD1. We've mentioned Harriet and Hannah as ideas for the -short- long list, but not totally sure and still the whole can't put finger on why we're not sure. Emma, Anna - both close family names already in use. Will put Estelle, Esther and Nancy forward to DH as liking those. Got about 3 months to go so plenty of time.

but we got two boys, so it is spare if you fancy it

I think Matilda and Harriet go well together (both German and have 'strong' meanings) but do wonder about the wisdom of having daughters who could choose to be Mattie and Hattie in the future...

How about Alice, Beatrice, Dorothy, Edith, Elsa, Florence/Flora, Heidi, Josephine, Penelope or Rosalind (could be Rosa/Roz)?

I like Josephine from earlier suggestion but would've had Elizabeth (Libby) if we'd had a girl.

ooh some more for the list. Thanks for the suggestions. I love Pippa, but have a close friend with a baby Pippa. Also love Alice and Heidi too. I'd had the thought about Mattie and Hattie but at the moment she's more of a Tilda than a Mattie but we chose Matilda for the varying nn's available so she may choose to be a Mattie in the future. Waiting for a chance to air these new suggestions to DH
