I was just wondering what everyone thought of this? It's an old name in my husband's family, and I kind of like it (especially for a middle name), but it's so unfamiliar I can't figure out how I feel about it! What does it make you think of? I love the idea of using an old family name and I think it sounds sort of unusual, but not too wierd, which I also like. Thoughts?!

If it's an old family name and you feel ambivalent, I would use it as a middle. I'm not sure whether I like it or not, but a certain kind of fella could probably pull it off.

I like the idea of using an old family name but personally think its a bit too unusual for a first name (and looks a bit like Lard which would be bad news for a larger lad ). Middle name would be good

It's almost Darrel backwards. Middle or third name, but not first, imo.

Yeah I got the Darrel backwards vibe too. But hey if you like it go for it.

Never thought of that! I thought it sounded like a mixture between Leonard and Laurence. I agree- I really want to love it because of the family history, I just don't! It's a definite middle name though
