Boys or Girls name? Not many around here, and just curious as to what others think. Did it used to be a little popular? What happened?

Think it's about equally used on girls and boys here, but more girly in other countries iirc. Don't think it's got drastically less popular overall, no. I think Morgane is the French spelling for a girl, but could be mispronounced as "Mor-gain" in this country. I quite like it.

Met a Morgane in France she was lovely. Love Morgane for a girl, but not Morgan, and nothing for a boy.

Morgan is a boy's name as far as I'm concerned, owing to a Famous Five Book and meeting one IRL. I would be inclined not to use it for a girl because of Morgana Le Fey!

Definitely a boy's name I think. Don't like it though. Especially not for a girl: has that 'Madison' feel to it which I dislike for girls.

I know both a male & a female Morgan & like it for either

More female Moragns round my way. Has followed a very similar path to Taylor. Firts a few boys, then a lot of girls and may well fizzle out.

Yeah, good name. I have met a little girl called Morgana or Morganna (not sure of spelling) - her parents are from Estonia. Thought it was a nice name.

Morgan is a boy's name in my books.

DS used to go to school with a girl called Morgane, proounced Mor-gann (stress on Gann). God, her mum did bore on about it.
