Which middle name?

We have pretty much decided to call our baby girl Cecily but haven't been able to finalise the mn.

Possibilities so far are:

Cecily Flora
Cecily Iris
Cecily Francesca
Cecily Alice

I'm not keen to use Rose/ Grace. I like them as first names but they seem v overused in the mn slot. Would consider other suggestions and quite open to slightly unusual mns.

TIA

Cecily Alice is pretty.

Cecily is gorgeous. I like Alice or Iris. Also you could consider -

Cecily Joy
Cecily Hope
Cecily Maeve
Cecily Wren
Cecily Belle
Cecily Kate

Cecily Flora - nice
Cecily Iris - sounds like a disease of the eye
Cecily Francesca - bit of a mouthful
Cecily Alice - the best!

I like Cecily Maeve/ Kate and Wren too, although I'm not sure I would actually use it!
I like Maude too but the overall combination sounds a little too serious if that makes any sense!

Does anyone have any further thoughts??

Cecily Kate is lovely, Cecily is quite a musical sounding name, so I think you need something with one syllable to balance it. From your list would go with Cecily Iris.

I like them all actually. Do any of them have personal significance to you? Sometimes that helps with making a decision.

lisselotte · 16/02/2010 11:48

Thx sleepy. A couple of those listed do have a personal connection. I am also now wondering about Roas (rather than Rose) and Adeline.
What do you think?

Another vote for Alice

passionberry · 16/02/2010 15:18

Cecily Alice gets my vote too!

lisselotte · 16/02/2010 16:38

Cecily Alice seems to be the 'winner' on here.
My previous message was supposed to say Rosa not Roas!

What do you think of Cecily Rosa or possibly Cecily Adeline?

I like Flora or Rosa as middle names with Cecily. Cecily Alice is pretty but possibly a bit sssy for my liking (I quite often use my DDs' middle names when I call them so made sure I chose something that I wouldn't mind calling aloud).

LuciaRose · 16/02/2010 16:53

Love Cecily Flora. This is a name I have considered, as well as Jemima Cecily.

I love the name Alice, but think Cecily Alice together has too many s's and l's - they both sound a bit similar. Alice Flora would be great though.

lisselotte · 16/02/2010 21:49

That has been my main concern with Alice- being to sssy! I guess mns aren't actually used v often though!
