Lennox for a boy?

Any thoughts on Lennox? Looking for a Scottish origin boys name. I love this but DH might need some persuasion.

Like Lenny and Len as NNs too. Honest views welcome!

I don't like. It seems very 'ned'.

I've heard it used a few times by people who were obviously ardent Celtic fans. It makes me cringe.

i prefer leonard or leopold with len/leo for short though. Lennox is not awful though. It's ok.

Good name, historically quite Scottish, particularly if you have any lowland Scots associations.

I grew up with a Lennox (he was quite cute, too )

I think of it as an upper-crusty woman's name from the early part of the 20th C. Can't remember where I came across it though.

I would use Leonard. I don't like the -ox ending for a boy's name.

Hmm, not great reviews overall. Back to the drawing board I guess! For the record I love Leonard and it was my great grandad's name but DH thinks it's fusty -shame.

I quite like it, even if it does remind me of "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson-Burnett (the central character is Mary Lennox).

There is a female scottish author whose psudonym is Lennox Morrison

i know 3 Mervyns. That must be some sort of statistical anomaly. the bounty woman would think you were perverted if you chose that though. (i quite like to have the disapproval of bounty women).
