Just throwing some names around. I quite like Otto and it made me think of Otis.

Which do you prefer?

Otis.

Hulababy · 09/02/2010 11:17

Not keen on either personally

Ondine · 09/02/2010 11:17

Otto is much nicer imo.

Otis reminds me of that utter twit Otis Ferry. But even without that association there is still something a bit trying to be cool and failing about Otis.

momofnearly2 · 09/02/2010 11:24

Otto is much nicer!

Bumperlicious · 09/02/2010 11:27

Complete hijack but Ondine I love your name and it is on my baby name list, except I have just found out there is a film of that name coming out soon so that might scupper it.

For the record OP Otis is on our boys list too, but DD likes it more than me.

sophiesmummie · 09/02/2010 11:30

Otis is much, much nicer! Otto is awful imo.

Ondine · 09/02/2010 11:42

I was thinking that if next DC is a DD I might use Ondine too Bumper.

Slightly weird that it's my user name, will have to change it, but the more I see it the more I think it?d be nice name in real life. I?m waiting to see that film too to see if the name survives untainted!

Sorry for hijack OP -

mummyjackson · 09/02/2010 11:43

No worries

Otis is lovely, i liked it for DS2 but hubb wasn't keen!
not keen on Otto but if you like it it could easily be a nickname

PanicMode · 09/02/2010 11:48

I would choose Otto if I had to state a preference - Otis just makes me think of the lift manufacturer

sweetkitty · 09/02/2010 13:17

Otis is my cats name and I agree it is a cool name

Don't know if I am keen on it for a little boy though.

Otto reminds me of the bus driver in the Simpsons.

I do like O names though, Ozzy/Oswald, Oliver etc

Rindercella · 09/02/2010 13:22

I used to really love Otis and we considered it if we were going to have a boy (we're not), but I did go off it. I think mainly because it started to remind me of eardrops/infections, so not particularly nice!

If anyone introduced me to their son called Otis though, I would think what a cute name!

How about Cassius as an alternative?
