Middle name for Isla?

I absolutely adore the name Isla, but I have no idea what to do for a middle name!

DH wants to do 'Mae', but our niece and his mum both have that for their middle names.... plus it seems like everyone has the middle name 'Mae'!

I was thinking of Marilyn, or Sophia... something very girly and not done to death.

Suggestions please!

I love the name Isla, too.

Isla Marilyn doesn't sound quite right. Isla Sophia shouldn't go together, but does for me.

Isla Grace
Isla Rose
Isla Marie

I'm out.

bringonthetrumpets · 08/02/2010 20:15

Yeah... see those are the middle names that I'm trying to stay away from. Grace, Rose and Marie are all fairly overused IMO....

It's tough!

Isla Skye
Isla White
Isla Dogs

Sorry.
Its a very popular name at the moment and rightly so, its lovely...

bowbluebell · 08/02/2010 21:09

It is a lovely name. Does work with those one syllable consonanty names (Grace, Rose).

How about something a little different-

Isla Hope
Isla Joy

Isla Dogs?? I'd never thought of that!

littledawley · 08/02/2010 21:12

Is there a family name that you like? Go through all of the grand and great-grand mothers names and see if one fits. I chose all of my DCs middle names from family as their first names were just ones that I liked, it was nice to give it some meaning.

Boogellyboo · 09/02/2010 16:05

Isla Saskia
Isla Hope
Isla Elena

Erm, all the others that were on my shortlist are already listed. We went for................................................Isla Mae! (DF's nana is called May so it was our way of having a family name but making it Isla's too by spelling differently)

We didnt tell anyone the names we were considering beforehand and everyone comments how lovely it is

bringonthetrumpets · 09/02/2010 18:20

We went through grandparents and great grandparents..... Not a very attractive list

Ruth, Patricia, Myrtle, Dolores, Betty and Carol (no offense to anyone with these names! They just definitely do not go with Isla)

I think our list is down to Isla Olivia, or Isla Mae.

Thank you for all the suggestions ladies!

Isla Dogs?????

DD is Isla Maraidh.

Wanderingsheep · 09/02/2010 19:00

Ooh love the name Isla! It was one of the names that we thought of for DD.

Funnily enough, her middle name is Sophia.

I actually think that Isla Sophia sounds nice.

What about Isla Rebecca?

gardenshrub · 09/02/2010 19:02

Maybe a slight variation on Mae would work? So the name wouldn't be exactly the other family members, like Isla Rae

JeMeSouviens · 09/02/2010 19:08

My neice is Isla Cameron (father scottish), I think it sounds good together.

blowbroth · 09/02/2010 19:25

Isla Trumpet

mathanxiety · 09/02/2010 19:27

bringonthetrumpets · 09/02/2010 20:29
