Overdue and undecided - can you help!

We're having a boy... any day! I cannot believe I am full-term and still undecided. I used to think parents who named their baby after the birth were crazy! What else have they been doing for 9 months I would say... now I know - arguing about names!

So, here goes:

Johnny(John)
James
Alex(ander)
Leo
Miles
Timothy

Would love to hear people's thoughts!

No harm in not knowing before - is it your first DC ? I think with the first, knowing the name is all about having a fantasy idea of what they will be like. I don't think it hurts to realise they might be nothing like you imagine ... With DS1 I had a definite name, but with DS2 we had 3 and then saw what he looked like - then it became obvious.

Enough philosophising ....

I love John - good solid classic name and less common than James

James - nice , and like nn Jamie

Alex also really nice

Leo great

Don't like Miles (too posh) or
Timothy (not very manly)

dizzydixies · 08/02/2010 17:31

like them all apart from Miles/Timothy

John

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/02/2010 17:48

Wait til you meet him! You wouldn't name a cat before seeing if it truly looked like a Tubby.

Fwiw I love James (obviously!) Alex and Miles, they're all nice though.

Johnny(John) -- Love
James -- like
Alex(ander) -- like
Leo -- Love
Miles -- ok
Timothy -- Love

Good luck.

audley · 08/02/2010 20:41

I like them all except Timothy. John is my favourite, then Alexander, James, Miles and Leo. Good luck

momofnearly2 · 08/02/2010 21:00

I prefer Alexander, then James, then Miles.

In fact I would call him Alexander James.

I really don't like John. Timothy and Leo are a bit, ermmm, dunno really. neither here nor there.

John is lovely.

wrigglershouse · 08/02/2010 21:53

Jonathan (can then be Jon or Jonny). For some reason that H really doesn't do it for me.

janeite · 08/02/2010 22:02

Timothy

janeite · 08/02/2010 22:03

Oh James is good too - I missed that one! Don't like Joghnny but John is okay.

janeite · 08/02/2010 22:04

I don't like Johnny - Joghnny makes them all look good though! Doh!

jellybeans · 08/02/2010 22:06
