Heated · 06/02/2010 22:27

Prefer the celtic spelling, Isobel, it seems sassier somehow.

bumpybecky · 06/02/2010 22:27

I've got an Isabel, she is in a class with two Isabelles and we know an couple of Isabellas. Never yet met an Isobel.

skidoodle · 06/02/2010 22:29

Isobel

cece · 06/02/2010 22:30

Isobel looks better. I once taught an Ysabel

janeite · 06/02/2010 22:33

Love Ysabel / Ishbel too.

ascouser · 06/02/2010 22:37

we have an Isabelle.... either way birthday cards, invites and other correspondance from people will come up with the full range which may or may not wind you up.
It winds my 8yo up no end.
She is and Issy, her nursery insisted she was izi forever but hey ho.
Like Belle though

SixtyFootDoll · 06/02/2010 22:43

delphinedownunder · 06/02/2010 22:56

Either, but I like Isobel best of all. Mine is Dizzy or Dizz!

ellokitty · 06/02/2010 23:05

Isobel or Isabelle. Not keen on Isabel, just doesn't look right.

We have an Isabelle.

LaRagazzaInglese · 07/02/2010 00:04

Isobel

Bleatblurt · 07/02/2010 00:10

Isabelle.

But out of your two Isobel. I know I should prefer Isabel since I like Isabelle the best, but I just like the belle ending the best.

In fact I prefer Isabella most of all. Just to be awkward.

displayuntilbestbefore · 07/02/2010 00:12

It's a shame girls named Isobel/Isabel/Isabelle
end up with the nickname Izzy.
Isabel/Isobel/Isabelle is such a pretty name.

NotAnOtter · 07/02/2010 00:17

my favourite has always been Isobel - prettier

ascouser · 07/02/2010 00:19

oh, and it's not funny when (don't know why, but) old people on finding out her name say ... Is a bell necessary on a bike ....
piss off

MaggieTaSeFuar · 07/02/2010 00:27

Isobel for me. I know it is illogical, but I can't bear that name spelt Isabelle. I like Isobel. I like Juliet not juliette, vivien not vivienne etc.. nuts perhaps
