Caspar

yes to all the boys names!!

Eliza
Alice
Beatrice
Imogen - not struck on this but the rest are nice

lowrib · 05/02/2010 00:32

Edward - Ed is a nice name. Edward is a bit regal for my taste, but I know lots of people like it.

Hector - brilliant

Edmund - Again Ed is really nice. Edmund is a really quite posh. Depends on what circles you are in!

Caspar - Nice.

Eliza - Lovely name

Alice - too 'now' for my taste. Lots of Alices about at the moment

Beatrice - Again quite posh

Imogen - Quite nice

nappyaddict · 05/02/2010 00:36

Edmund
Caspar

Eliza
Beatrice

mathanxiety · 05/02/2010 05:25

Love all the boys' names, and all the girls' names except Imogen.

MummyTumble · 05/02/2010 06:58

Great lists - love them all!!

Edward and Eliza or Imogen are my favourites

Blanchet · 05/02/2010 09:47

Edward - Love it.
Hector - this seems to be on everyone's list and I'm starting to feel like a meanie for always batting it down! Dislike, a lot.
Edmund - Can take or leave
Caspar - I can't help but see the Friendly Ghost, sorry! I know I'm a philistine

Eliza - Love it
Alice - Love it
Beatrice - Not wildly keen, though Beattie is a nice nickname
Imogen - Like it well enough, but it has a very "now" feel to it - I know Alice is popular too, but Alice is more of a perennial classic whereas Imogen belongs very much to this generation I feel.

Hulababy · 05/02/2010 10:22

Boys

I really like Edward and love the nn Ned.

Gils:

Eliza - like this
Alice - nice
Beatrice - ok; not keen on nn Bea
Imogen - less keen

crumpette · 05/02/2010 10:35

Edward- love
Hector- hate, rhymes with Lecter (as in Hannibal) and Spector (as in Phil) and is thus distinctly creepy
Edmund- an ugly version of Edward
Caspar- ghost not my taste but it sounds nice

Eliza- gorgeous
Alice- lovely, on my list if had dd2 but it's quite popular
Beatrice- dislike, no rational explanation but may have something to do with fergie and heather mills
Imogen- BB contestant years ago. Nowhere near as classy as your other girls' names

MrsJohnDeere · 05/02/2010 10:51

Like Edward and all your girls' names (prob Alice and Eliza best of all).

liliputlady · 05/02/2010 10:59

Edward - boring version of Edmund.
Hector - hectoring. Not a fan.
Edmund - love it!
Caspar - quite like this although might be a name to grow into.

Eliza - lovely, classy and strong
Alice - nice enough
Beatrice - really don't get the popularity of this one.
Imogen - it's grown on me.

AngryPixie · 05/02/2010 12:09

My dc would have been Eliza, love it but he didn't, so we have an Edward (Teddy)

So for me, obviously, Eliza and Edward

butadream · 05/02/2010 12:10

Not keen on Hector but all the other names are really lovely

Francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2010 12:11

I like Edward, Hector and Alice.

SqueezyB · 05/02/2010 12:35

love Edward, the other boys names are a bit posh for my taste if I'm honest.

Love all your girls names especially Imogen, it's on our list!

audley · 05/02/2010 13:14

All are fab, except Imogen. We have chosen Caspar for this bump, but would have loved Hector if friends hadn't got there first. My favourite all time girls name is Elizabeth, so would use that with Eliza as a nn. Hard choice as your names are all lovely

Sunshinemummy · 05/02/2010 14:45

Edward - OK
Hector - like
Edmund - OK
Caspar - like

Eliza - like
Alice - OK
Beatrice - like
Imogen - like

Funnily I know two sisters called Beatrice and Imogen with an older sister Siana.

sophieandbelly · 05/02/2010 15:18

eliza-ok

beatrice-pretty but getting very popular
imogen-ok

Ziggurat · 05/02/2010 15:49

Edward - like
Hector - to try hard IMO
Edmund ... Blackadder
Casper - possibly a grower

Eliza - lovely - first choice for me
Alice - fine, a bit meh
Beatrice - OK
Imogen - as said on other thread, I don't get this name when there are so many other pretty names out there

Cortina · 05/02/2010 17:04

I agree Imogen is quite popular now but it's a classic that's been around for years, I was at school with a couple.

Amelia is similar to my ears and probably more 'now' - Is it a 'classic' in the same way as Imogen? Certainly not many of them in the 50s, 60s and 1970s - unlike Imogen - and I think more popular around the time of Vanity Fair.
