OK as sibling names or not?

Absolutely fine, I would say!

Pineapplechunks · 01/02/2010 16:48

Beautiful names, have them, immediately.

littledawley · 01/02/2010 16:49

Lovely.

Thanks for posting. Oliver is 2 and expecting DS2 in 7 weeks. DH is coming around to Reuben (but he isn't keen on ANY names and has no suggestions of his own!)

Both names are on my shortlist for DS2...love them both.

sheeplikessleep · 02/02/2010 16:36

nlo - what is your ds1s name? just interested as we both like oliver and reuben!

Yes

Reuben is the best boys name in the world (not that I am biased at all)

Ollie and Ruby? Lovely

sheeplikessleep · 02/02/2010 16:56

My only concern is that Ruby is a girls name ... very unpc of me to say that i know! I love the name itself, but is it likely to be shortened to Ruby? Guess I was thinking it might be shortened to Ben

Our DS is Ruby, Reubs, Reubenboy etc etc, we don't shorten to Ben as we have a very similarly aged cousin called Benjamin.

sheeplikessleep · 02/02/2010 17:12

I do love the name Reuben. And that is unusual, as I am not keen on many boys names! Alternatives we are thinking of are Samuel (DHs favourite), Toby or Daniel. Bloody nightmare this baby naming malarky!

Our Reuben is known as Roo, Roobidoo, Roobidoobidoo, Roobs and Rooster.
