I like Archie and Isaac for boys and Isla and Leila for girls - as that pronounced Layla or Lie-la? Both boys names quite popular but that wouldn't bother me.

sheeplikessleep · 01/02/2010 16:10

Archie - nice, but all of the Archies I know are a bit naughty!
Lucas - lovely
Charlie - I don't like too much.
Dylan - love love love. if only my DH did too, as we are due ds2 in 7 weeks!
Isaac - not too keen
Bailey - not fussed either way

Isla - love
Ella - neither her nor there, don't really like, don't dislike
Mae - OK - same as Ella really
Esmae - OK, but can't get my head around the spelling
Skye / Leila - not keen on

Tyson86 · 01/02/2010 16:10

I like them all apart from

Bailey (sounds like a girl's name to me)

Esmae (weird spelling of Esme?)

and

Leila (can't help thinking of Leila Morse on Eastenders)

morethanyoubargainfor · 01/02/2010 16:18

Archie-like this

Lucas- not so keen

Charlie-like it also for a girl

Dylan-like this

Isaac-my favourite

Bailey-its my dogs name so can't really take it seriously .

Isla-very pretty
Ella-not keen

Mae-love it

Esmae-don't like it

Skye-my favourite also like it for a boy

Leila-sounds porn-starish.

babyingram · 01/02/2010 16:22

Thanks, keep going with the honest opinions. I have no idea how these more modern names are perceived so interesting to hear the dog name/porn star and other comments.

I like all the boys names, except Bailey. They are all fairly popular (I have a Charlie)

Girls :

I like Isaa, Mae and Skye

Instead of Leila, what about

Lara or

Lyra ?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/02/2010 17:46

Don't like Archie (missed that one out)

CantSupinate · 01/02/2010 17:50

You obviously don't like nicknames? Although most of those names actually are nicknames for something else. So people will ask you "Is Ella short for something?" etc.

I really don't like Esmae (or Esme, even). Just a personal opinion!

Of the boy choices I only really warm to Isaac. Ella and Mae are ok, I don't rate the others.

MaggieTaSeFuar · 01/02/2010 17:53

I like Archie but prefer Richie and I like Lucas but prefer Marcus.

Esme or Leila are the best girl names.

MrsJohnDeere · 01/02/2010 17:55

Boys names not my cup of tea at all, I'm afraid (not that that matters one jot).

Like Isla and Mae.

paulaplumpbottom · 01/02/2010 17:58

I like MAE and Issac

MaggieTaSeFuar · 01/02/2010 17:59

What about Delilah with Isla for short.?? Isla is lovely but it seems not quite enough. Like it's hardly there at all. I like a name to have a bit more presence and to be not quite so girly.

momofnearly2 · 01/02/2010 18:21

Charlie - Big No

Dylan - Very Nice

Isaac - Love It

Bailey - Big No
