I would welcome your feedback on the following:

Beatrix Rosa if it is dd3 or
Jonty William if it is ds1

I already have two dd's:

Emilia Olive
Florence Alice

Thoughts welcome or any other suggestions as I am struggling.......

They're not my personal taste but there's nothing wrong with them.

Emilia will get confused with Amelia a lot (ie, you will be correcting people a lot on that one).

SoupDragon · 31/01/2010 14:38

Emilia is her existing DD

I prefer Beatrice - Beatrix seems to be trying too hard. Not keen on Jonty at all, it sounds like a nickname.

SpottySlippers · 31/01/2010 14:41

Thanks for your replies; yes dd1 is Emilia (nn Millie/Mimi) and dd2 is Florence (nn Floss). Would shorten Beatrix to Bea. Would not shorten Jonty.

Can't decide which is nicer Beatrix or Beatrice.......

beatriCE is my pref, millie, floss and bea sound nice together. jonty is also nice, it will be jon when he is older tho.

janeite · 31/01/2010 15:43

I like Beatrice but not Beatrix. I like William. Don't like Jonty.

mathanxiety · 31/01/2010 15:51

I love Beatrix or Beatrice (the -trice ending is a bit softer like your other DDs' names) and William too but I dislike Jonty.

cece · 31/01/2010 16:00

I like Jonty. We almost used it for DS1 as nn for Jonathan.

bidibidi · 31/01/2010 17:38

Oops, sorry for my confusion earlier! .

butadream · 31/01/2010 18:26

Beatrice is nicer but perhaps too similar to Florence?

Prefer Jonathan with nn Jonty.

boodleboot · 31/01/2010 18:45

i just think of that beer-tricks potter joke....Beatrice is much better....Jonty is nice but not nice enough to actually call a child in real like i think....

waitingforbedtime · 31/01/2010 18:52

Beatrice is nice but not sure about Beatrix.

Dont think Jonty really goes with your dd's names though

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/01/2010 18:58

I love love love them all !

Momdeguerre · 31/01/2010 19:07

I like them as a set, think they go well together too.

SpottySlippers · 31/01/2010 19:12

Thanks for all your replies!

Any other suggestions that work with my existing dd names are very welcome.......I also really like:

Sophia (but is this too popular?)
Isabella (again perhaps a bit too popular?)
Clementine (but is this too now?)

With regard to boys names.....help???

OP posts:
butadream · 31/01/2010 19:14

Y Y Y to Sophia

Isabella lovely but too popular unless you really love it

Not that keen on the name Clementine

butadream · 31/01/2010 19:15

For a boy, I think a traditional short name would work well with those sisters' names e.g. Mark, John, Sam(uel), Dan(iel), George etc.

Beasknees · 31/01/2010 19:17

beatrice and florence were my grandmothers middle names - i think they go really well together although i think Beatrix Rose sounds better than Beatrix Rosa.

diddl · 31/01/2010 19:18

Also prefer Beatrice.

Harriet?
Cecily?

I like Jonty.

Hamish?
Arlo?
Rufus?
(All with William as middle name)

mathanxiety · 31/01/2010 20:32

I love Clementine.

shoobidoo · 31/01/2010 21:12

I like Beatrix and Clementine. Isabella and Sophia are indeed very (too) popular imo.

For boys, I like Jonty (Jonathan). How about Quentin, Tobias or William?

shoobidoo · 31/01/2010 21:13

Oh, sorry, just saw that you'd like William as a middle name
