I think its fab. But opinions needed. my best friend says it's 'too doggy' and my 10 yr old DS says it's 'too gay'....

I like it.
Ds has friend called Hugo.
Def not gay or doggy , he is cool , well as cool as a 7 yr old can be

Iklboo · 28/01/2010 08:58

My friend's little boy is called Hugo and he's really cute

mummyloveslucy · 28/01/2010 09:54

I love the name Hugo, Huggs for a nick name.

CuppaTeaJanice · 28/01/2010 12:43

I find it really pretentious, in a Boden/range rover/private school/horsey kind of way.

Besides, the soft 'H' sound at the beginning of a name is really difficult to say.

Wouldn't strike me as being gay or doggy though.

largeginandtonic · 28/01/2010 12:49

It is a fabulous name. I have one. He was 5 yesterday.

Everyone loves it. He get's called Hug's alot of the time.

My bf had a baby last year and he is also called Hugo. Matching middle name too. We call him Hugo II

Love Hugo.

SqueezyB · 28/01/2010 13:49

Umm, the first thing that comes to mind is it's a bit posh. Sorry! I would listen to your 10 year old, he's the best one to know what names might get you teased at school...

cece · 29/01/2010 11:57

Love it

fishie · 29/01/2010 12:56

i am just talking to a hugo. he doesnt like it as gives poor possibility for diminutive

crumpette · 29/01/2010 15:44

I love it but couldn't use it as surname starts with H and would have been a bit ridiculous

Not doggy or overly pretentious

dizzydixies · 29/01/2010 16:56

love it

thefinerthingsinlife · 03/02/2010 19:52

I loved Hugo but dh said no way as it was a camp name,

frazzledoldbag · 04/02/2010 09:28

I have a Hugo (8 months). He is YUMMY. Doggy? I don't think so!

annasophia · 04/02/2010 09:31

I like it, but my dh also finds it too 'feminine'.

MaggieTaSeFuar · 04/02/2010 17:46

i love it! i don't get the feminine angle as it's hugh with a hard g and O on the end. O nearly always denoting a man's name!

deliakate · 04/02/2010 17:53

I wanted Hugo, or Hugh, but DH wanted Huw, so that's what we went with. Sounds kinda the same. Love it

50ftQueenie · 04/02/2010 17:56

I know a very delicious Hugo aged umm.... 10 months now. Love the name and it is still unusual.

WorzselMummage · 04/02/2010 18:00

I had a dog called Hugo

Bonsoir · 04/02/2010 18:00

One of my nephews is called Hugo. It's a lovely name.

LynetteScavo · 04/02/2010 18:03

DS2 was going to be Hugo, but when he was born, it just didn't suit him.

Not doggy at all, but if I ever get a dog.......
