What do people think? A bit silly for a boy? I'm loving it at the moment.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsKitty · 25/01/2010 11:11

I like it. DH didn't so it didn't make our list...

LittleMissWorryHead · 25/01/2010 11:11

Love it, love it, love it! The coolest boys name.

Bucharest · 25/01/2010 11:18

It's OK.

Better than Milo anyway.

It's a bit twee Freya North for me.

He'll have a baby brother called Rufus.

MrsKitty · 25/01/2010 11:20

I did wonder if OP had recently read the Freya North book that has a character called Arlo as that's the only place I've seen it before...

phdlife · 25/01/2010 11:22

Woody Guthrie's kid was called Arlo. It doesn't really work for me, but that's just because I have a weird accent that makes it sound like I've just swallowed a bottle. Generally in favor of groovy boys' names

applecharlotte · 25/01/2010 11:26

Nope.. not read the Freya North book (yuk).. there was a character in 24 last night called Arlo - I'd never heard the name before. Not sure if thats better or worse actually...

Really like it.

Natasha Kaplinsky called her son that.

I wanted it but husband vetoed.

Two4One · 25/01/2010 11:41

It was on our list but we worried people (our parents mainly) would say "What? That's not a name!".

Good to see that it is.

Servalan · 25/01/2010 11:45

Makes me think of Harlow in Essex pronounced in the local accent I'm afraid (but that might just be cos I'm an Essex girl...)

Squishabelle · 25/01/2010 11:47

Is Arlo not really a shortened form of Arnold? I know an Arnold who alwags gets Arlo.

LuckyC · 25/01/2010 12:11

I know 3 Arlos: two at nursery, one son of a friend.

BosomsByTheSea · 25/01/2010 13:17

Love it.

Know a very cute one.

Buntytea · 25/01/2010 13:39

Love it but I remember when Natasha Kaplinksy had named her son Arlo and shortly after she was giving an interview and mentioned she had had some bewildered reactions to it!

ShowOfHands · 25/01/2010 13:40

Arlo's fab. I like the sound. Also like Ivo.

dottyaboutstripes · 25/01/2010 14:15

We had a horrified reaction from DH's family when we announced our DS was called Arlo and quite a lot of people said "Pardon?!"

But we love it so that's what counts

momofnearly2 · 25/01/2010 19:49

My friends little boy is called Arlo. (After Arlo Guthrie)

Love it. It's a very cool name!

sallyjaygorce · 25/01/2010 19:53

I also know an Arlo - after Arlo Guthrie. I like it.

Doobydoo · 25/01/2010 19:54

Love it.Was on our list

fruitstick · 25/01/2010 19:55

The sports presenter on the Today programme is called Arlo. Had he been the presenter this time last year DS2 may well have been called this.

sallyjaygorce · 25/01/2010 20:03

I also know an Arlo - after Arlo Guthrie. I like it.

applecharlotte · 25/01/2010 20:38

Doug?

thisisyesterday · 25/01/2010 21:03

it's cool, had it on my lists for ds2 and ds3

Lionstar · 25/01/2010 21:05

It is the FABBEST name (but then I am biased ).

It does sometimes get the 'is that a real name?' reaction though.

ByTheSea · 25/01/2010 21:06

I really like it.
