BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/01/2010 15:34

no

RonaldMcDonald · 22/01/2010 15:35

nooooooooooooo

middle name?

Meglet · 22/01/2010 15:35

no.

LaTrucha · 22/01/2010 15:39

There is a name Hendry, which might be a compromise. It's my hairdressers name. He's South African. Otherwise no.

shumway · 22/01/2010 15:59

Ick.

glastochick · 22/01/2010 16:01

You see, I'm thinking no too. Can't use Jim or Jimi, as I associate it with a dogs name (purely down to the fact my Nan's Labrador was called Jim).

Personally, I love Zander and would be quite happy with Hendrix as a middle name, but DH hates Zander (doesn't like names starting with a Z and hates Alexander which it's derived from. Sander wouldn't go with our surname and might get shortened to Sandy which I find a bit girly.

So we're really stuck. He won't budge and I can't seem to find anything I like that he likes.

As a middle name yes but not as a first name.

LetThereBeRock · 22/01/2010 16:02

Why not Xander? That's the usual spelling is it not?

Zander just makes me think of the fish.

Heated · 22/01/2010 16:03

Been agreeing with LetThereBeRock on the last four name threads, it's definitely mn material.

Marne · 22/01/2010 16:04

I don't like it, would prefer Henry .

glastochick · 22/01/2010 16:09

Xander is a no because we both think it's a bit pretentious and is more of a derivation of Alexander.

I actually want Zander after two Sanders that I know, but like the sound of the Z better than the S.

We know too many Henry's for that to work for us. We're looking for something that no one else has.

Xander is pretentious but Zander isn't?

Flightattendant · 22/01/2010 16:12

hahahahahaha

sorry

obv that's to your dh, not you whom I am sure will have VETOED this!

glastochick · 22/01/2010 16:16

Yeah, that's my DH for you!

Xander or Zander - doesn't really matter to me.

He's not being at all helpful, and sticking to his guns. May just have to wait until arrival day and cry like a hysterical banshee until he comes round to my way of thinking!

we have a Hendrix. he is a one-inch high furry marmotte that, for some reason, was long ago given the role of God of the Car. He lives in the glove compartment. I think it's a great name. for furry car gods.

KnivesForksSpoons · 22/01/2010 16:25

Zander Hendrix

no.

annasmami · 22/01/2010 16:30
