I love Xavier! He was the coolest boy in my sixth form and captain of everything!

Anyway, love the name, think it goes better than Kayden and is cool for a child or an adult.

BellasYummyMummy · 21/01/2010 17:00

very cool! how do you feel about giving such a different name compared to the 'norm'? we're thinking of a name thats not common at all, but are more worried about what everyone else thinks which is silly, but cant seem to help it.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 21/01/2010 17:42

Nice!
Only possible problem is people mangling the pronunciation.

I love it - whichever way it's pronounced. I think the mispronunciation and misspelling might wind you up though.

mathanxiety · 21/01/2010 18:59

Very nice. Fits in with every name except Tyler.

Mummyto3plusbump · 22/01/2010 10:18

thanx ladies.

only thing I was worried about was it not being able to be shortened.

Bellasyummymummy - dont tell friends/family till after you have named baby. It will only cause arguments.

All three Xaviers I know pronounce it Zav-e-ay.

Mummyto3plusbump · 22/01/2010 10:26

Zavier or Exzavier. Not sure. Im having a wobble on it though. Our Surname is 3 sylables starting with S and its a bit of a mouthful.

sonniebonnie · 22/01/2010 11:03

I'd pronounce it Ksa-vee-er.

stuffedmk · 22/01/2010 11:11

I think it is a lovely name but the only one I have ever met is a girl, she tends to get called Zavvie mostly though.
Great name I just can't imagine it on a boy now though lol

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/01/2010 11:13

Great name!

Ziggurat · 22/01/2010 13:27

If you're wanting to shorten the name and like X, what about Alexander, but known as Xander?

mathanxiety · 22/01/2010 15:42

The US Xaviers who went to school with oldest 2 DCs were Zave-yer, just like Saviour but with a Z.

St. Francis Xavier is usually pronounced this way in Ireland.

Lulabell · 22/01/2010 17:18

My dh loves this name, he's french and pronounces it Kza-vee-ay. So sonniebonnie start and cremedementhe ending. I also love it. Nickname-wise, those we know go by Zav (but written Xav).

mummyloveslucy · 22/01/2010 17:53

I love it.

wondawoman1 · 30/04/2012 18:07

Xavier or Hamish? My Dh is scottish and I am Irish, my family hate Hamish and I havent said anything to them about Xavier for fear of what the reaction may be! .............Gutted as I really loved Hamish :_(

Our Surname is Mackie , just don't know if Xavier Mackie goes together?
