Is Harrison (Prob Harry) just too popular? Plus doesn't really go with DD (Iona)...

If it's a name you really like then does it matter all that much if it's popular at the moment? I don't think it does.

I like Harrison with Harry for short.

Coldhands · 21/01/2010 10:36

I went to school where there were twins with this as their sirname, so for me it doesn't feel like a first name tbh. Its up to you though. And even though Harry is popular, I love it.

birdofthenorth · 21/01/2010 10:36

I really like it. Harry is higher up the popularity stakes than Harrison. Think it goes ok with Iona -both 3 syllables, both nice names.

i love harrison!! would use it myself for a boy but our surname is harris!! harrison harris??

KeithTalent · 22/01/2010 19:28

bit common

MummyKimberley · 22/01/2010 19:34

I like it, especially nicknamed Harry. It is very common but then so is Matthew and Jack, all of those are great names that won't age.

SilveryMoon · 22/01/2010 19:36

I like it.

sb6699 · 22/01/2010 20:24

I only know one Harrison (and he is gorgeous btw).

He is known as Harris (rather than Harry).

cakeywakey · 22/01/2010 20:34

I know of loads of Harrisons, it's starting to become a bit common IMO. Henry is the 'proper' name that gets NN to Harry, which I think it's lovely

BarbaMamma · 22/01/2010 23:09

No. Indiana Jones action man name.

Mongolia · 22/01/2010 23:22

Why do people worry about sibblings names matching? it is already difficult enough finding a name, as it is.

BTW I don't like Harrison, but that is my problem, you aree the mother and have a right (within reason) to call him as you wish.

Heated · 22/01/2010 23:26

Love Harry, less fond of Harrison but don't call him Harris! Or at least never let him venture within the sound of Bow Bells.

mumoverseas · 23/01/2010 08:52

I think Harrison is the best boys name ever! I am however just a teeny weeny bit biased
