Too many L's?

Currently thinking of names for DC2, due in early June.
Girls names are pretty easy and we have a shortlist of lovely names we really like.

Boys are sooo much harder, but wondering about Leo.

DD is known as Bella to all, our surname has 2 syllables and starts with Pl.....

Too many L's in this combo do you think?

Im sorry I cant help- rubbish with boys names. Do like Leo- i dont think it sounds like too many L's. Had to post just to say I love Bella never thought of that name before. Will be demanding asking if, dp likes it to add to the girl list. Why are boy's names harder?

Tobermory · 20/01/2010 20:33

Thanks she is not Bella on the BC but has become one over time! My ploy with my DH is to
casually mention the name v early and let it grow on him!

Boys names are so hard, my list is much shorter. Find it hard to find a name with the balance just right.

we had the same issue with DD3's name but it was D's!!!

used the names we love and haven't regretted it one bit - go for it

Leo is a great name, imo. The L at the start of the name goes well with the L sound of the surname, because the L in the surname is a blend, but the L of Leo isn't. Not too many Ls. And not too many Ls even with Bella, again because the L of Leo is at the start of the name.

Love Leo & because surname doesn´t begin with L think it would be fine.

CommonNortherner · 21/01/2010 08:17

My first name begins with L and my unmarried surname was L and I really liked it!! I would have no hesitation in doing the same for a child if it was a name I loved!

GladioliBuckets · 21/01/2010 10:07

no it's fine

Coldhands · 21/01/2010 10:27

I like Leo. And yes, boys are names are sooooo much harder.

Sunshinemummy · 21/01/2010 10:39

Leo is a lovely name and I don't think you have too many Ls there.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/01/2010 13:59

I really like Leo, and the L thing isn't a problem.

MrsMattie · 21/01/2010 15:50

Don't think the 'L' thing matters.

Leo is nice.

stressheaderic · 22/01/2010 22:02

I loved Leo, but dp wasn't keen so it was off the list. I think it's cute for a baby (I think of lion cubs) but strong for a grown man.

The 'L' thing has worked out alright for Laurence Llewelyn Bowen?!

I'd go for it. I love L names anyway...Liam, Lauren, Lucy, Lucas, Lois, Lorna...it's just a nice sound I think.
