I have just found out that my sister's friend has named her new baby boy Zebedee. I was a bit but then I wondered if I was actually just a bit behind the times, and that in a few years it will be quite a popular name - what do you think?

Erm, no. It's hideous and far too comical.

Silly name. Some people are so anxious to be different, they seem to lose all sense when it comes to nameing their kids.

My boy is Zebedee - Zeb for short. I wanted a name that meant something nice, and it means gift.

Zebediah was my original plan, but in the names book I have Zebedee just meant gift, and Zebediah meant gift from god. Now I realise they actually both mean gift from god, oh well. Then I thought of Zebulan, but everyone I asked said Zebedee sounds nicer. So there you go.

He has sensible middle names, so if he hates it/ wants to be a lawyer/judge/dr he can always swap!

I'm thinking it's a very good name if he becomes a rock singer/dj/surfer/other extreme sports enthusiast. Or perhaps an organic farmer!

I like it. I don't see why it should be considered any different really from names like Zachary.
