I have 2 children Elizabeth (known mostly as Eliza) and Louis.

What would you suggest for a boy and girl?

Still early days but I want to start making lists!

If you were going to keep it royal, then Nicholas & Catherine would be options.

James
Charles
Sebastian

Claire
Petra
Helena
Rose

I do tend to be attracted to royal names but it may be a bit themey to have three? I love William and Edward for a boy.

For some reason Mary comes to mind. Very uncommon now I think.

Sarah leapt into my mind. And Miles.

I think if you like royal names then go for it. It's not as obvious a theme as flowers or islands for example and most royal names are classic names. William and Edward are good choices.

monetinjanuary · 18/01/2010 12:49

It's been a long time since there was a King Louis, so I think you're safe. I think of the Donald duck connection first , so avoid Hugh or Donald.

Archie
Joseph
John

Helena

or

Arthur

MrsWainwright · 18/01/2010 13:47

Thank you, lots to think about there! I very much like Arthur actually, but again it's royal! Martha is going on the list and Beatrice was mentioned by DH last night.

Oh, and do you think I couold go for something more out there and cool?

Elizabeth, Louis and Clementine
Elizabath, Louis And Orlando?
Elizabeth, Louis and Phineas?

Or should I stick with names like William and Beatrice?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 18/01/2010 14:46

Eliza, Louis and X kind of calls for a single syllable name - though, that could be a nn of course.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 18/01/2010 14:52

Charlotte.

BridesheadRegardless · 18/01/2010 15:03

Depends.

Clementine yes.
Orlando no.

Run it past us first.

i'd say stick with royalish, but not recent royal. ie no Charles or Edwards.

Try older royal; Roman, Russian etc.

Francis?
Sebastian?
Marcus?*
Alexander?
Gus (Augustus)?
Bruce?
Gregory? **(love this!)
maxilmilian?felix? lucius? Lucian? Claudia Julia/Juliette Helen/helena
Adela ide
Matilda

Eleanor
Louisa
Margo/margaret
Sofia
Lucia (pronounciation debates about this though!)
Antonia
Camilla
Flavia

Not all royal but royal sounding at least!have *ed favourites.
