Hi - seeking inspiration for middle name for DD4, due early March, who we hope to call Anna.

Looking for something perhaps a little unusual, not pretentious, nice meaning and not too twee. We're up in Scotland, so something celtic might be nice too !!

My friend's DD is called Anna Beatrice. Truly lovely name.
I do have another friend with an Anna Myfanwy but maybe that's a bit Welsh.

MamaMimi · 17/01/2010 23:42

Well if your db is born a few days early the birth flowers associated with Feb are Violet or Primrose, possibilities?

Don't think it would work with March as that is Jonquil (daffodil/narcissus), although not beyond the realms......

Anna Jonquil, mmmmmmmm - certainly different.

Anna Kath(e)(a)rine
Anna Eilidh
Anna Skye
Anna Louise
Anna Rachel
Anna Muireann (Gaelic for Muriel, but much nicer!)
Anna Margaret
Anna Peigi (nn for Margaret but I like it)
Anna Jessie (Jessie is my dd2's middle name, also a nn for Janet, very Scottish, as well as Jessica)
Anna Roisin
Anna Siobhan
Anna Caitlin
Anna Christine
Anna Aveen
Anna Jane

Just the ideas which have come to me (and dd's 1&2) just now. have steered away from any names ending in 'a' (Iona, Isla, Morna, etc) as they don't sound too good with Anna.

I think Anna is gorgeous - I will never have another child, but if I had another dd, it woudl be waaaaay up there!

notanumber · 18/01/2010 19:35

Anna Lucy is very sweet. Good luck with the birth and enjoy her.

mummyloveslucy · 18/01/2010 19:49

Anna Lucy is lovely. I am ever so slightly biased.

I also love Anna Rose, Anna Grace and Anna Jane.
