My friend has suggested this name? I have never heard of it does anyone know the origins of it?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MavisEnderby · 14/01/2010 22:33

It sounds African/american but I am a bit crap at names so have no idea really!

mathanxiety · 14/01/2010 22:51

Sounds African American to me too, a bit like Tyrone.

thisisyesterday · 14/01/2010 22:53

Sounds awful to be honest, whether it's new or old.

MamaLazarou · 15/01/2010 07:13

I quite like it, though prefer the spelling Tyrese.

MrsMattie · 15/01/2010 09:46

It sounds a bit made up. What I call a 'Jerry Springer' name. There is a gorgeous singer called Tyrese

I do know a little Jamaican boy called Tyrese.

zozzle · 15/01/2010 11:42

Awful sorry!

Bucharest · 15/01/2010 11:45

IIRC one of the Child of Our Time children is called Tyrese? His mother is of Jamaican origin I think.

Pineapplechunks · 15/01/2010 11:46

Not for me.

yellowflowers · 15/01/2010 11:46

My friend who is English but whose dh is from Tobago has a son called Tyreese. She thought they had made it up but have since heard of lots of others.

MaggieMnaSneachta · 15/01/2010 12:58

horrible!!

GoldenSnitch · 15/01/2010 13:15

Awful. Why not drop the "Ty" and just have Rhys?

JJ6 · 15/01/2010 20:12

I felt it sounded made up so did not want to pry too much, the origins sound a bit vague so maybe it is a made up name. I agree it sounds a bit JERRY, JERRY !!!

crankytwanky · 15/01/2010 20:24

Interesting.

Agree it sounds American.

twolittlemonkeys · 15/01/2010 20:25

Don't do it

claraquack · 15/01/2010 20:26

No no no no no don't do it. My BIL (lives in Florida, married to an (African) American) has a little hairy dog called Tyreese. He thinks it is his son - seriously. The dog even has it's own Facebook page...

He is a nice dog though. Just not a child's name!

MaggieNilAonSneachta · 16/01/2010 17:22

lol at the dog with an fb page. does the dog say 'what's on his mind'... thinking about licking my balls.

claraquack · 16/01/2010 20:01

Maggie - I don't know. I have yet to agree to be his friend. I couldn't face "today my daddy took me for a walk to the park" type updates.
