Help needed with name please......

Baby boy due in 2 weeks and DH and I have yet to decide on a name.

We both like the name William but it represents bad things from my past. Now I am able to move on from this but DH says he cant as it is tainted for him.

Is it possible to use a name and not associate it with badness through little ones life??

I dont know what to do......

hmmm that's hard. I think i wouldn't use it tbh. if your DH is going to think of these bad things every time he sees the baby or hears the name.

i expect in time he would get over it, the name would become the baby's name... not the name from the past. but it's still a big thing, and i'm not sure i could do it.

there are lots of wonderful names to choose from so why choose one with bad connections for you both

would you consider Will or Willum?

I'm sure your wee one would make the nice his own but still, there must be something else you like at least to give you a choice?

I wouldn't give my baby a name that conjured up bad images
