Help! Twins due March and no names really hitting the spot!

DH and I are expecting our first babies, twins, early March. Don't know the sex. I have lots of girls names I like, not sure if I love them, and definately short on boys names. Preferences for girls names from our list please, other ideas welcome, and any boys name suggestions greatly received! Sorry girls list is long! I like fairly traditional, not to flouncy, not too popular and like nick names. Also like boy nicknames for girls. My username is what my friends 5 year old has called the babies!

I like Hattie as a nn. I know what you mean about the Harry/Charlie/George thing, I do like boy nn for girls but I do wonder if it's better for people to know what sex my kids are from their names without having to ask or making assumptions?!

I like Imogen, Felicity and Imogen, not that keen on the boy suggestions, am finding girls names a lot easier!

I don't know any Charlottes or Georgias who go by Charlie or George actually.

I am not keen on girls called George and such, but maybe that's because my name is a boy's name too. I agree with zuzu that it's important that a name tells the listener the sex of the child.

Having said that when I told the lady in the next bed in hospital DS2's name, her response was "oh I like that for a girl" ??? (It was approx like saying "oh I like Stanley for a girl").

I know an adult Charlotte who is called Lottie (which I'm not that keen on) and an adult Georgina who is called George. Lol at lady in next hospital bed, they'll always be one I'm sure! We're keeping name choices firmly secret to avoid comments from family and friends in the hope that everyone will be polite once they are actally named! I seem to have too many people in my life that feel the need to tell me what to do, most recently what colour to paint nursery! Sorry, ranting now!

How about something like Christopher (Kit or Chris), Jonathan (Jon or Jonnie) or Timothy (Tim)?

We found boys names really hard too. If Harriet had been a boy she'd have been Jonathan or Benjamin, possibly Benedict. If DD2 had been a boy she was going to be Jude.
