What do you think of these? And which do you prefer?

Like both. But prefer Celia.

squeaver · 07/01/2010 14:42

I know a Cecilia who shortens it to Celia if that's any help.

GrimmaTheNome · 07/01/2010 14:44

Celia. Cecilia is a bit fussy.

flimflammum · 07/01/2010 14:44

I like Celia, Cecilia makes the song go through my head ('I'm down on my knees, I'm begging you please, to come home, come on home')

my sister is Celia and people always ask her if her "real" name is Cecilia...

I prefer Cecilia if I'm honest.

Be careful of people shortening it to "Seal" - which I'm sure is not what you're after at all!

Esmee · 07/01/2010 14:52

I like both, but prefer Cecilia. Or Cecelia.

MrsJohnDeere · 07/01/2010 14:55

Prefer Cecilia. What about Cecily - even nicer imho.
The Celia I know is always called 'Ceal'.

mathanxiety · 07/01/2010 15:24

Celia, hands down.

crumpette · 07/01/2010 15:55

Celia, definitely

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/01/2010 15:59

We had Cecily on our ;list but DH thought it sounded like a rabbit from Beatrix Potter

MamaLazarou · 07/01/2010 16:00

I like them both, but prefer Cecilia.

GladioliBuckets · 07/01/2010 16:05

Cecilia is prettier but will end up Celia for short anyway so you can't lose if you choose Cecilia. Although I prefer Cecille personally.

diddl · 07/01/2010 16:08

Cecily!

RnB · 07/01/2010 16:09

I love Celia

BigusBumus · 07/01/2010 16:17

I love Cecily. We were going to have that if DS was a girl. (Its a bit more "classy", which as a word, isn't, and i hate saying that but, ykwim)

catinthehat2 · 07/01/2010 16:18

Celia!

LuciaRose · 07/01/2010 16:29

Thanks for your comments. I do love Cecile too - and Cecily.

Love both, Camille also lovely in the same vein.

dizzydixies · 07/01/2010 21:01

we have Cecelia as DD2's MN and I love it, had I thought we would have DD3 I would have kept it and used it for her with nn Cece

DD3 is Cordelia and Camille was a consideration!

Doozie · 07/01/2010 21:16

Love both - how many syllables does your surname have?

Long surname - Celia
Short - Cecilia

Doesn't make a difference - go for Cecilia

I vote for Cecilia. Although be prepared for people to spell it 'Cecelia'.

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 07:37

SpiceWeasel - ours is after a family spelling, its a valid spelling too although possibly not as common

PfftTheMagicDragon · 08/01/2010 07:45

I prefer Cecily. Just to be difficult.
