Hi, i am 23 weeks pregnant and i am naming my baby girl Louise after my friend who is terminally ill with cancer. I just can't think of a nice middle name to go with it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Personally I would use Louise as the middle name and find something else for her first.

Sorry about your friend.

No ideas for middle name but Louise is lovely ... it was on my list for both dd's but dh didn't agree.

What about a family name?

I always think Jane is a nice middle name.

I love Louise by the way (also Louisa).

Something French sounds great wth Louise

diddl · 03/01/2010 15:20

I think Louise is a lovely name as too often used as a middle name rather than a first name!

Louise Elizabeth,
Louise Alexandra?

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 15:26

My Middle name is Louise and I don't like it personally.

thenewbornnanny · 03/01/2010 15:28

My middle name is Louise too and I'm with Dis, I don't like it at all!!!! I do like Louisa and Elouise though.

nannyzo · 03/01/2010 15:28

I think Louise is a nice first name.
Trying to think of a middle name for you though is causing problems!

ilovepeppapig · 03/01/2010 15:40

What a lovely idea. my sister died a few year ago. Her two best friends both called their daughters after her. one as a first name and one used it as a middle name

what about

Louise charlotte
Louise may
Louise alice
Louise Ellen

vanloadtovenice · 03/01/2010 15:47

Louise Camille

Then she can have Lulu Camille as her 'brand' for some marvellous later career!

Louise is a lovely name, and IMO it is too often used as a middle name when itmakes a very nice first name.

lizzie9442 · 03/01/2010 16:00

thanks everyone, I'm still not 100% on any of those names for the middle. She will definately have the first name as Louise though. I really like the name and want her to be named after my friend.

Any more names for the middle?

Louise Camille
Louise Seren - my favourite

good luck

One of the queens granddaughters is Louise. It's a lovely name

Heated · 03/01/2010 16:49

I like Louisa more which is honouring your friend but also it's slightly different, which in later life your dd might appreciate. Did something similar for dd.

Mn: Camille, Honore, Hope, Faith, Joy, Nancy, Otillie, Isobel

Rindercella · 03/01/2010 17:00

Emma!

I am a Louise and my middle name is Emma. Emma and Louise always seem to work well together (in either combination).

Very sorry to hear about your friend.

What kind of names do you like so we can help with the middle name a bit more?

madamearcati · 03/01/2010 17:56

what does your surname begin with ? I know a poor Louise who got a lot of stick for having initials LEG and you wouldn't really want a LAV

CirrhosisByTheSea · 03/01/2010 18:48

Louise Amelia.

Louise Francesca.

LouMacca · 03/01/2010 18:57

I am a Louise and don't have a middle name.

Just Louise
