This www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1240174/Why-Ant-live-longer-Dec--A-beginning-D-wipe-10-years-beginn ing-life.html
article suggests that babies with names starting with A will live 10 years longer than those starting with D.
Personally I like a lot of A names (for girls) but think this is a bit of a daft reason for choosing one name over another.

I once read that our initials can influence us negatively or positively.

FunnyLittleFrog · 03/01/2010 15:41

That's got to be the biggest load of billy bolleaux i have ever read.

Raahh · 03/01/2010 15:42

love the picture of Adam- he lived to be 930 , you know, so this proves the theory!!

I agree with many of the comments at the bottom, never mind the results, just tell me where i can get paid to 'research' such cr*p!!

Didn't everybody in the Old Testament (like Daniel and his lions, King David etc) live to be about 400 years old (okay I exaggerate a bit).

There again (thinks nastily) I once had a orrible bf called David....

PoppyIsApain · 03/01/2010 17:27

My mum and brother have D names!
My ds has an A name though

GhoulsAreLoud · 03/01/2010 17:28

Ha! My DD has an A name. Will make up for the fact that our surname begins with W and people with surnames from the bottom of the alphabet are low achievers apparently

Harriedandflustered · 03/01/2010 17:35

What? Complete nonsense. Sounds like spurious correlation to me.

I was going to call my next child Dork. Thank goodness I read that article.

Harriedandflustered · 03/01/2010 19:11

Are you thinking of christening him/her Alpha, then? Good sort of androgynous name, caters for all eventualities and prolongs life too.

Mshalfcut · 03/01/2010 19:12

Thats me fucked then

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/01/2010 19:41

Shit, my son Dweeb will be devastated when he hears

bruceb · 03/01/2010 19:53

That is all well and good but Dicks have more fun (if you read the whole article)....

Ok I made that bit up

Harriedandflustered · 03/01/2010 19:56

ROFL. I think you'll find that Dicks don't do well. Willies were irrelevant to the study. As were Pricks and Penises. That just leaves Cocks and I think they're not very long-lived.

pigleychez · 04/01/2010 10:53

What a load of tosh!

Lucky DD is an Abigail though hey!

bronze · 04/01/2010 10:58

I'm going to call my next son Methuselah. Presumably m names live the longest
