Caterina is nice, we have an Italian/British friend who called their DD this.

Francesca is definitely my favourite.

dh and I were wavering on the Caterina\Catalina one, but were worried they might be a bit pretentious?

My dniece is Gabriella so I can't have that one, and I have four cousins called Graziella (curse those extended Latin families )

Caterina is lovely. I've never heard Graziella before but if I'd heard it before I had DD I'd have used it. And (sadly) not a drop of Italian blood in me

Absolutely definitely got to be Francesca. Its so beautiful! I have a dear friend called Francesca and no-one ever shortens her name and that makes it even more special.

All the Francescas I knew then, many, were c alled either Fra' or Francy pronaunced Franchy. Here is Franny I think, isn't it?

I like Francesca here because not so popular, in Italy is overused.

I dont think you can go wrong, most italian names are beautiful. Id go more out there than francesca though, make the most of it so to speak.

Pippi - That was the pronunciation I was trying to get across but my phonetics are crap!

I like Viviana and Valentina except for the hideous friend connotation of the latter.
