DN Due Tomorrow - Sebastian?

Hi everyone, what do you think of Sebastian? I love the name so much that 20 years ago I had a dog and called him it, so, that's my fault for giving a dog a lovely boy's name, but its hard to get passed that.

What do you think? TIA
Can't wait to meet him!

I should have said, DN and her dp love the name and its on top of their list, but they have slight issues about the fact that it was my dog's name.

Not a name I would choose for my child, but hey.
I only thought I would respond by saying that male friend of mine is called Sebastian and he absolutely loathes it, uses his middle name instead. I think he thinks it is ultra-wet or something.

diddl · 26/12/2009 09:29

I love it!
It is too good a name for a dog!
Tell them to use it if they love it.

SofaQueen · 26/12/2009 09:34

I love it - love it so much I used it for one of my DSs. The coolest boy I knew growing up ( and for whom I nurtured a mahousive crush) was named Seb. He was definitely not wet.

I really like it, love it shortened to Seb too

MrsMattie · 27/12/2009 17:55

I love it. DH hated it and said it was a posh twat's name, which is why it was vetoed for our DS . DH is a commoner, ignore him

Lovely name.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/12/2009 17:58

DS is called Sebastian, also known as Bastian, Baz, Seabass, Basil. It is a great name.

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 27/12/2009 23:38

Fab, hope dn names him Sebastian.

He's not here yet.

Drums fingers and taps toes. Great Auntie in waiting. lol

My DS happens to have the same name as a deceased family cat, but we did name that cat with a brilliant name. I've always loved it.

You just have to bump off anyone who remembers the pet

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 27/12/2009 23:50

[hshock] .

Yay! And congrats

canella · 29/12/2009 20:36

what a great name!!

was only lamenting to dh the other day that i wished we'd called dc3 sebastian! Our dc need long first names to go with our v short surname and i loved the name but everyone around me at the time had only negative things to say! wish i'd stuck to my guns!

congrats to your DN and her dp!

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 29/12/2009 21:26

Thanks everyone, I've been to see him, he's gorgeous!

Canella, can't you add it in somewhere?

Yay, so chuffed. (You'd think he was mine lol).

i don't like it,,,, but if you are certain that you love it, hten use it.

prefer Saul. I think Sebastian is becoming quite mainstream surprisingly. is it in the top 50 now?

MamaLazarou · 02/01/2010 19:06

Sebastian is a brilliant name! I love it (we're not posh enough to use it, though: my husband is from Walthamstow).
