Help need a middle name for Zoe

So thanks to mumsnet I had DC2s name all sorted and ready to go (baby due in 3 days time). But turns out that I'm expecting a DD and not a DS as I thought so we're back to the drawing board. DH and I both love Zoe so think we are settled on that but we're really stuck for a middle name. It needs to begin with a consonant because of our surname. I've toyed with Nancy but not sure.....

Please help!

Was just going to suggest Olivia, but see that you want a name starting with a consonant...

thirtysomething · 21/12/2009 10:17

Depends what kind of names you like?

Traditional? Catherine, Elisabeth, Rebecca, Ruth, Sarah, Emma, Claire, Beth, Heather, Susannah, Rachel, Anna

More "top ten":
Olivia, Megan, Bethan, Lucy, Emily, Chloe, Amy, Grace, Rose, Sophie

A bit more unusual:
Xanthe
Sasha
Amelia
Poppy
Lily
Violet
Iris
Maud
Felicity
Amalie
Coralie
Natasha
Antonia
Frances/Francesca
Elena
Chiara
Kiera

Jane

I know you asked for a constonant, but I'm a Zoe Abigail, and i've always quite liked my name.

If my parents had of chosen Olivia my initials would of been my name, which I always wished for as a child.

Constance

(I always suggest Constance on these threads!)

Thanks for all the replies. I think we want traditional. I love Olivia and Abigail but they would be terrible with our surname unfortunately.

Nannyzo - am delighted that you like your name. It's always good to hear from people who have lived with the name you have chosen and like it!

What do people think about Nancy? Will she hate me forever and think I have given her a granny name (in reality, am considering it because it was my granny's name and she has just died not sure I would otherwise).

Zoe Elizabeth

Zoe Elizabeth is DH's preference but I really don't want a vowel because of what the initials will spell.....

My DD (22 months) is Zoe Isabella. Our other thought for her middle name was Georgina.

Good luck by the way

Given the time of year, you could have my sister's name, Zoe Christina.

I may have just outed myself, I've always suspected she might be an MNer. Hi !

MrsBadger · 21/12/2009 13:22

ours would have been Zoe Margaret

To be honest, I can't believe that what your middle name is makes a great difference to your life! Most of the time nobody knows, and the some of the time it's good for a giggle.

I think it's a nice thing to be called after someone as a middle name, and if you like Nancy I would go for it (and I like the name Nancy actually!). My middle name is the same as my aunts, is the kind of old fashioned name that has never yet made a reappearance and I wouldn't say that I like it as a name, but it's never bothered me in the slightest.

Zoe Nicole?????

I wanted to call my DD Zoe, second name Nicole. DH didn't like either..... DD (now 12) "hates"DH for not letting her be called Zoe,now her fave name, and would much prefer Nocole to her chosen middle name!
