I quite like this for a girl. Would shorten to Florrie.

What do you think?

How is it pronounced?
Floren- tia or floren- sha?

It's fine but I prefer Florence.

It's a bit too fussy for me.

Florrie is lovely, as is Flo
But think Florence or Florentina are better long names.

Something about Florentia makes me think of dementia...

No, neither Florentia nor Florrie are remotely desirable first names.

Florentia sounds daft and OTT.

It reminds me of a pizza express pizza name. Perhaps you could use Florence if you were shortening to Florrie anyway? Or perhaps you just like pizza

I really love Italian names, but this one somehow doesn't have the same wow factor.

I much prefer Florentina - that sounds lovely and can still be shortened to Flo or Florie.
