We now have a lovely little baby boy, born on Saturday. At home (no pain relief!), it was wonderful.

Now we are feeling the pressure, the pressure of a name.

Tobias - does this have a more religious or Scandinavian feel?

Rupert - hmm feedback on this not so great so far

Oscar - dh loves, very popular but it is cute

Henrik -dh's choice

What do you think?

Other dog's name: Fender

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 20:39

That fits our last name is Bender.

Tell me what do you think of my name choices?

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 20:50

umm nice for someone else's baby, sorry! If it's any consolation I have read through a couple of 100x posts thread on 'poncey boy's names' c/o Franny and Zooey I believe and couldn't find one I liked enough.

Louby3000 · 18/12/2009 20:52

Ha! I thought you might like Rafferty-rafe for short. No problemo, what are you on about though with the Franny and Zooey thing? I love JD Salinger.

Heated · 18/12/2009 20:54

Henrik is lovely

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 20:56

A poster here, I remembered a thread with loads of boy's names, and searched the ol' archives. Took half hour to go through, and nothing.
Henrik is looking on the up on here though

Lars?

I liked Henrik the best from your list, if you have the heritage to carry it though..?

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 21:13

It's there Louby, but not obvious. My accent is from elsewhere. I am a displaced person, culturally.

So perhaps not. dammit

Louby3000 · 18/12/2009 21:17

The heritage thing is just my opinion, so if you and your DH love it, then have it.
Lokki?

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 21:36

Lokki, bit out there for us.

Hang on, people do ask if I am Scandinavian, because I look it, even if I do not sound it. Perks up a bit.

Skegness · 18/12/2009 21:52

Yes- know it well. Henrik really is cool and nice, I think.

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2009 22:06

Skegness you must be close I love it at this time of year. The trees in the windows are really beautiful.

Are you actually decided?
Have a look at my 'mission impossible boys name' baby name thread- loads of good ones on there, and your taste does seem very similar to mine.
Linus and Henrik were both on there... as was the name we went for in the end

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2009 12:29

No, not decided, seem to be floundering. Need a bolster.. your thread will be it I know it .

Going to read.

Quick glance, yes great names thanks, the name is on there (not sure which one, but it is on there).

Will go back into the naming sessions with dh.

Don't like Oscar but like the rest.

zozzle · 02/01/2010 22:20

Tobias is nice -the others I'm not keen on esp Rupert - too upper class (not in a good way)

LouiseP76 · 02/01/2010 22:36

Oscar is nice but is becoming very popular - depends if you want a more unique or unusual name or are quite happy knowing your son may well have another Oscar in his class at school... Henrik's nice too

ChippingIn · 03/01/2010 03:26

LOL - hopefully the baby has a name now - what did you choose???

Mummyto3plusbump · 03/01/2010 09:36

I like Oscar but agree it has got very popular so I pick Tobias! Congratulations! xx
