Lemoni

I think there's an accent somewhere and it's of Italian or French origin?

Anyone heard of it?

I quite like it but are you going to get Snicket comments?

Oh dear!

Openbook · 14/12/2009 16:07

Satsuma's quite pretty!

shushpenfold · 14/12/2009 16:07

No, no, no, no - no matter how it is spelt she will get the p*ss ripped out of her for the rest of her life. She will not thank you, in fact, she'll probably use her middle name instead.

HinnyPet · 14/12/2009 16:08

It's the name of the little girl in Captain Corelli's Mandolin too, it's a beautiful name. The accent is on the last "i" so it's pronounced Lem on ee.

midnightexpress · 14/12/2009 16:09

I think it's a boy's name, actually

midnightexpress · 14/12/2009 16:09

oh, ok, maybe not. I'm sure it can be a male name too thoughg.

personally though, if you're in the UK I'd definitely say no.

MamaLazarou · 14/12/2009 16:24

It's horrendous. Truly horrendous.

Mincepiedermama · 14/12/2009 16:26

Not good.
It's lemony after all's said and done which is a bitter nasty fruit.

TheShowMustGoOn · 14/12/2009 16:27

No

ifyou like the sound maybe leonie?

Vivia · 15/12/2009 12:20

If you are Greek, it's beautiful Lay-Mo-NEE.

In the UK? Lemony. God awful.

Cortina · 15/12/2009 12:31

How do you spell it if Greek?

turkeydrumstix · 15/12/2009 12:40

Oh dear. Perhaps Melody for a similar sound? [clutches at straws]

biscuitbear · 15/12/2009 14:45

Beautiful. Its what I named my cat.

cumbria81 · 15/12/2009 16:47

it sounds like the answer you would give if someone asked you what washing up liquid smelled of.

RubiMama · 16/12/2009 11:36

It literally means lemon in Greek. My Greek husband laughed and said even in Greece people would think it was funny. I wasn't allowed to call my DS Milo because it's Greek for apple!

AmIReallySayingThis · 16/12/2009 16:01

Very silly name, sorry.

lemons4ever · 22/05/2023 09:34

Offensive. Just offensive. What would you say if someone said that to you?

KirstenBlest · 22/05/2023 10:12
