Nice of naff, or just downright weird? Can't decide whether I like it or not (DH does, hence it is currently on the table...)

Scorps · 14/12/2009 11:39

I know one who is 7, i like it.

MadameCastafiore · 14/12/2009 11:40

Naffarooney!

They make sunglasses, it is not a child's name.

Imagine if he is a spotty little geek and his name is Oakley, he will get beaten up - you have to be able to guarantee that he will be super cool and attractive to carry off a name like that!

BunnyLebowski · 14/12/2009 11:41

Ha Ha Ha Ha......you're joking? Right?

sweetnitanitro · 14/12/2009 11:41

Naff.

emsyj · 14/12/2009 11:46

That just makes me think of the sunglasses... or Oakey Doke the living tree thingy.

HelewiseWoolf · 14/12/2009 12:44

Sounds like a brand name, is really not appealing to me.

diddl · 14/12/2009 12:45

OMG.
Naff for sure.

Bucharest · 14/12/2009 12:47

Sounds like some invented place that Marks and Spencers would use, like their Oakham chicken and their Loch Muir salmon (or wherever it is)

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 14/12/2009 12:50

ooh no, please don't

currycrazy · 14/12/2009 12:56

i know one,who is 4 and he is horrible.

i dislike the kid and i hate the name.....just about puked when i heard it

MistletoeMonster · 14/12/2009 12:57

It's a surname or a

horsebox

isn't it?

bellissima · 14/12/2009 13:06

Mutant brother of Ashley? (and that's bad enough)

MrsMattie · 14/12/2009 13:07

awful

MamaLazarou · 14/12/2009 13:07

It's awful. Oak, on the other hand, is brilliant. But Oakley is sunglasses.

WideWebWitch · 14/12/2009 13:09

awful, it's sunglasses

LynetteScavo · 14/12/2009 13:11

I like it.

BigusBumus · 14/12/2009 13:15

I know an Oakley who's 5 and named after a local Bedfordshire village.

He's quite sweet but his mums a bit of a chav.

LetThereBeRock · 14/12/2009 13:25

Awful.Incredibly naff.

MamaLazarou · 14/12/2009 14:17

There's an Oakley in Hampshire as well.

birdofthenorth · 14/12/2009 14:36

Part of me really likes it.... but another part of me can't resist the urge to sing "whoooooaaaaaaaaaaooooooooh the Oakley Cokey!"

TheMightyToosh · 14/12/2009 14:39

Ok thank you ladies (or any gents hiding behind those names)...

I'm getting the impression that this is not a good choice and should be removed from the table pronto!

My main concern was the brandname issue, which is coming across loud and clear...

I had an Oakley horsebox. Was very nice.
Not sure about a person name though.

RorysRacingReindeer · 16/12/2009 20:44

makes me think of an estate agents
