Finlay

Roan

Middle name James (after my poorly grandpa) - what do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fruitshootsandheaves · 04/12/2009 22:01

I have a James
I have also used Joshua as a middle name so that is my favourite out of your list

never heard of Roan but it sounds like a horse name

JaneiteMightBite · 04/12/2009 22:03

Edward (love it) or Rowan with a 'w' in it (dd2 would have been this, had she been ds1). James is a good name!

cannotdecide · 04/12/2009 23:21

Edward by far, classic and timeless. The rest may date. James lovely with anything. Why not go for that as the first name - strong classic, family links, lots of shortened versions, perfect.

LittleMissWorryHead · 05/12/2009 19:12

I like Finlay best - I know a little Finn and he is a cheeky little thing and its so perfect for him....Wish i had blooming thought of it...

Not overly keen on the other names I have to say...

How about:

Leo
Leon
Noah
Oscar
Ben?

mumoftoomany · 05/12/2009 22:41

I love Roan.

Mincepiedermama · 05/12/2009 22:51

I like Edward and Roan.

I'd steer clear of Finlay as you can't move for Finns and Finlays these days.

lovechoc · 08/12/2009 15:36

Far too many Finlays around nowadays. Imagine what it would be like at primary school!

CuppaTeaJanice · 08/12/2009 15:44

I like Roan best, but it's not my favourite spelling of it - too much like Joan, Moan, Loan etc.

Prefer Rowan or Rohan.

birdofthenorth · 08/12/2009 15:45

Like all your choices (except Roan which I would def spell Rowan). Love Joshua even though it's mega popular these days.

doubleexpresso · 08/12/2009 16:20

Nice names, but all very common popular. What about Edward nn Ned ?

jellybeans · 08/12/2009 16:31

Finlay TOO POPULAR, GIRLY?
Joshua LIKE JOSH
Edward NOT KEEN BUT LIKE TED
Roan NOT KEEN

MrsJohnDeere · 08/12/2009 16:36

Love Edward
Prefer Finton to Finlay
Rowan much nicer than Roan, Robin similar but nicer than both imho
Not keen on Joshua

cece · 08/12/2009 16:40

The only one I would use out of your list is Edward.

BaronessBarbaraKingstanding · 08/12/2009 16:43

I love Edward.

hugothegreat · 08/12/2009 16:46

Edward for me too! Although is getting very popular since the Twilight films. A neighbour and 2 friends have just used the name. I like Finlay next, then Joshua then Roan which sounds like moan to me.

MamaLazarou · 08/12/2009 17:11

Edward.

hattee · 08/12/2009 17:29

Another vote for Edward. Edward James sounds lovely

mathanxiety · 08/12/2009 19:59

Edward again, with Rowan coming in second.
