lovely names

diddl · 04/12/2009 07:39

I like Susannah.

People on here seem hung upon nicknames/shortenings though.

I used to call my daughter Poppet-so her nickname is now Poppy/Pops.

Nothing to do with her name!

I'm asking b/c I really love Annie but have a cousin who's Anne so I didn't want to go that route. Also have a best friend, Joanna, who's called Annie sometimes. My MIL is Suzanne and at some point I'd like to call a daughter after her but I prefer Susannah. Thanks for the input-can always count on Mumsnet!

Lovely name, was tempted to use it myself for dd2. Love the nn Annie, Suki and Suzi.

boodleboot · 04/12/2009 17:44

CheerfulYank · 04/12/2009 18:13

Oh, Suki is very cute. Hadn't thought of that.

I love Susannah. It is my DDs second name. The only thing that concerned me was that she might get called sue. Love Susie though!

SleightiesChick · 04/12/2009 19:59

Love Annie and Susannah so it all sounds good to me

cannotdecide · 04/12/2009 23:25

Most people won't link Susannah to Annie. If you love Annie why not go for that, I don't think of Anne and Annie being the same at all (Anne sounds boring, Annie sounds much more full of life!) but if your cousin makes a link she'll be flattered so you can't lose really.
