Its DS's middle name and it only has nice connotations for me, so I was surprised to se this in the news as a 'naughty' name. What do you think?

is the name of the local bell ringers' son here

addictedtolatte · 02/12/2009 08:41

i know a callum and hes the most well behaved boy ive met. the name is very popular so statistically it will come near the top of the list of naughty. my ds is called jack and his name is on the top of the list of naughty children.

Bucharest · 02/12/2009 08:52

Apparently so, but not nearly as naughty as Connor and Ryan.

(I know one Callum and he's lovely.)

MamaLazarou · 02/12/2009 09:56

Skinhead, dirty vest, school trousers, snotty face.

idobelieveinfairies · 02/12/2009 10:05

haha..my Callun who is now 14..has always been an angel...and he still is so far 2 years into teenagerhood..and i really can't see him changing.

Now......'Callum' being top of the 'children who don't tidy their bedrooms list'....i would believe!

idobelieveinfairies · 02/12/2009 10:05

i did mean callum not callun!

sunchild77 · 02/12/2009 14:59

my Calum is only a bit naughty, but then he is only 2. I also went for the alternative spelling with one l, according to my sil it is "abnormal" wtf?!

Iklboo · 02/12/2009 15:01

Our nephew is called Callum and he's lovely

Lifeinagoldfishbowl · 02/12/2009 15:10

Wouldn't say Callum but Jacks and Harry/Harrisons are def on my naughty need reinforcments list - I speak as someone who has cared for 12 Jacks and 14 Harry/Harrisons of which they have all been -aa handfull little darlings.

mamaduckbone · 02/12/2009 15:14

I don't think so. Only ever come across one Callum and he was a placid and lovely boy. at MamaLazarou - talk about stereotyping.

MrsToffeeCrisp · 02/12/2009 15:19

I know three callums. all lovely.

IME naughty = reece or ryan!!

kitty75 · 03/12/2009 11:27

sunchild77 - tell your SIL that Calum, with one l, is the traditional Scottish spelling (I think so anyay)

I know 2 little lads called Calum. Both quite bright, but also very loving and placid and quite capable of using their brains to get into mischief. Like nearly every child under 10.

IMLE Connor tends to be quite defiant, Jordan doesn't listen, Rhys is a daredevil and Ryan a quiet and confident lad.

Elsa123 · 03/12/2009 15:17

I sacked someone called Callum (a whole series of offences) and the next day stepped round a screaming child who was hitting his long suffering mother in the supermarket named Callum....

TheCrackFox · 03/12/2009 15:32

My first love was called Callum and he broke my heart.

Still, i think it is a nice name.

NorbertDentressangle · 03/12/2009 15:35

IME they have tended to be..er...livewires shall we say.

Ditto, all/most Kyles.

RupertTheBear · 03/12/2009 15:46

Aw my Callum is lovely! However, whenever we are out and about and there is a child being screeched at by his mother, the name being screeched is Callum most of the time!

colditz · 03/12/2009 15:49

yes, and Kyle.

colditz · 03/12/2009 15:49

i do not know one well behaved Kyle.

colditz · 03/12/2009 15:51

My ds2's name is 4th on the list of 'naughty names' and true enough, I remember all the Daniels I went to school with being very naughty little boys!

Fruitbatlings · 03/12/2009 16:21

I hadn't thought of it in that way but the only Calum I know is really naughty!
Maybe it's the missing "L"

SparklyGothKat · 03/12/2009 16:26

I have a Callum and a Connor, Callum is a bit naughty but he is 2 so allowed to be, my Connor is very well behaved and polite.
