why doesn't this sound quite right? I really like both names. Daisy is a family name so would like to keep it.

I would use Daisy in the middle.

Maria Daisy sounds better and Maria is a nicer name.

AnnieBeansMum · 29/11/2009 12:24

I love it but I think Daisy Marie sounds better. Just my opinion though.

hulabula · 29/11/2009 12:26

Maria much nicer than Daisy - so I agree that the other way round works much better.

fluffyfudge · 29/11/2009 13:34

Swap them round
Maria is far nicer than Daisy.

Sesi · 29/11/2009 13:47

Another vote for Maria Daisy. Much more elegant.

MrsMattie · 29/11/2009 13:52

Not great together. Daisy Marie. Although that Maria is much nicer than Daisy.

overweightoptimist · 29/11/2009 14:06

I think Daisy Maria sounds fine actually, as does Maria Daisy.

bellissima · 29/11/2009 14:09

Coz Daisy is a nn for Marguerite (or Margaret). So it's Marguerite Maria...not quite right.

vixta77 · 29/11/2009 14:12

I LOVE the name Daisy, my daughter is going to be called that!

Emily23 · 29/11/2009 16:23

Thank you, lots of helpful responses. I think swapping them round is a good idea, I'll have to practise saying Maria rather than Daisy - I've always wanted a Daisy. What other middle names are there which would suit Daisy? Similar to Maria? I'm not really sure about Marie.

I have an Iris Maria (8mo) both names are family names. Iris on my side and Maria on his. I am biased. Daisy Maria for me! I was going to call her Iris May, but seeing as she was born in April couldnt be arsed with the inevitable questions about choice!!

theminniebauble · 29/11/2009 16:31

My DN is a Daisy Marie. She's 11 now but when she was born we had a lengthy discussion about Marie or Maria- they're both names in our family. Marie won because we felt on balance that the two syllables worked better than three for a second name.

I think that both are lovely and work well. BTW- Daisy herself loves her name which is rare in an 11 year old.

Hulababy · 29/11/2009 16:34

I much prefer Daisy as the first name. Very pretty.

liliputlady · 29/11/2009 23:50

Daisy Maria is gorgeous! Stick with Daisy if that's what you wanted for a first name.

tanmu82 · 30/11/2009 13:42

sounds a bit like 'Dozy Maria'. doesn't work for me.....I'm biased. I love Maria, but Daisy has always made me think of cows....

qumquat · 06/12/2009 14:04

I think Daisy Maria sounds lovely, it's got a great rhythm. I personally prefer the name Maria but I think Daisy Maria flows much better than Maria Daisy. Stick with it!

Jujubean77 · 06/12/2009 14:18

They don't go together at all - sorry
