We have 2 Lexis in thr nursery where I work atm. Both under 2.

yawningmonster · 29/11/2009 08:23

I know two as well but one is short for Alexis and the other is spelled Lexie.

HislittlePoppet · 29/11/2009 09:01

Love it - but would spell it Lexie and make it a diminutive of Alexandra.

5inthebed · 29/11/2009 09:03

I love it, was on my list when I was pg, but had a boy. Would have done what HLP said and had Alexandra as her full name.

jellybeans · 29/11/2009 09:10

It's quite popular, I like it.

JingleAllTheWay · 29/11/2009 09:12

vvvvvvv popular at the mo, last year it was Evie, this year it is Lexie. Some are shortened from Alexandra, others Alexia others straight Lexie.

It is one of the names of the moment, because it is lovely

Jamieandhismagictorch · 29/11/2009 17:59

it is nice - hasn't someone famous got a Lexi ? - so it's likely to become more popular

MistletoeMonster · 29/11/2009 18:04

Amanda Holden's daughter

currycrazy · 29/11/2009 18:11

alex currans daughter.......and my friends daughter....my friend is called alexandra so i think its extra nice to be able to name your daughter after you but not have to be the same.
i love it

Jamieandhismagictorch · 29/11/2009 18:13

Thanks ! Yes, I agree Alexandra is a better given name

DiamondHead · 29/11/2009 18:13

I have one short for Alexandra and its the fastest growing girls name at the minute

and for your information, the most famous person to have a Lexie is David Bowie and if its good enough for him its more than good enough for me

just a shame Alex Curran and Amanda Holden (Alexa shortened to Lexie ) used it within weeks after me

dizzydixies · 29/11/2009 20:50

and mine is Lexie as well, not Lexi

carrielou2007 · 29/11/2009 21:02

I love the name Lexie (personal choice rather than Lexi) but again VERY popular here, I have 2 friends used it and have heard it lots and lots whilst out and about.

Lexilicious · 29/11/2009 21:23

splendid name

I'm the full Alexandra for real, someone called me Lex once and it stuck. About half an half now between Alex and Lex(y).

At about 15 it will be frequently prefixed 'sexy' which will either be mortifying or thrilling, depending on the character of your Lexi.
