Hi, its my due date on tuesday, we dont know if we are having a boy or a girl, and we still havent decided on names - cue Mumsnet to the rescue!!!
Our ds is Noah Gabriel Joseph.
Didnt think in our wildest dreams we would conceive again, but HA! we did, and now we need 3 beautiful names in case we have another boy.
We quite like Isaac, Oscar, and poss Felix.
There are lots of others in the running for middle names but not much scope for first names.
We like biblical names but I also like funky names....not chavtastic though!
Its so hard!!!!

Our girls names are whittled down to (in no particular order), Alice, Matilda, Imogen, and Amelie - any pref in order?? Or indeed any other suggestions to go with any of them?
Honest opinions please and all suggestions welcome!!!!!!!!!!
I just want the baby to come, and would prefer to have a shortlist of names for when it arrives. I just cant do any more "nesting!, im knackered...............

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Probably no help at all but I like all of those. There do seem to be a few Oscars around, though.
Quite like Jasper and Milo.
Hope it goes well!

I'd vote Oscar, Isaac and Felix

And Alice, Imogen, Amelie and Matilda.

We hadn't truly decided on names for any of our boys before they were born - sometimes they just don't look like your favourite name.

Good luck for Tuesday (or whenever!)

VerityBrulee · 27/11/2009 22:48

What a great story, all your names are lovely, not much help, but wanted to wish you the best

pussycatmomma · 27/11/2009 22:55

thanks ladies
A bit of mumsnet always cheers me up!
We really liked Oscar for our ds, but came up against harsh critique from most family members, then to finish me off my mum told me they had named a baby in Eastenders with the same name. But now, I dont know, we do still like it.... But its become much more popular, and i wanted something that still was a bit "different". I really like Isaac but maybe again, too popular at the moment.
What do you all think of Elijah? Also liked Ellis.
Went through a phase of Luca but decided it may be pretencious as we def not italian .
If you are liking the girls names can you put them in order of pref as we need a christian name and 2 middle names.
Also what do you think of Violet as a middle name?
Love the name Jasper which someone suggested but our surname starts with a J, so not feasible. Thanks all xxxx

monkeysavingexpertdotcom , Milo reminds me of that character in The Tweenies! but it is a lovely name.
Lockets... not sure about your boy suggestions but love Martha. Reminds me of "The Secret Garden"

suwoo - yes I love Felix! I think they sound lovely together. Does your Felix have a middle name? I do want other people to hear babys name and like it, and so far all people have said when Ive mentioned the name is "oh,like the cat food!"
I know I shouldnt find it off putting, but I do a little.

Love Felix & Milo - very much in the same vibe as your first imo.
How about Reuben, Saul, Jonah, Diggory (OK, last one not exactly Bibical!)
Can't say I;m so keen on your girls names tbh (& Lockets, stop dolling out Thea's ) - Martha is lovely - how about Kitty?

Hulababy · 27/11/2009 23:15

Boys

From OP I like Oscar best.

Girls

From OP I like Matilda best (also on my top 3 if I have another) followed by Amelie.Alice is nice but not as keen on Imogen.

suwoo · 27/11/2009 23:17

Felix Oscar . He would have been Kitty if a girl.

My Noah has 2 middle names, he is Noah Joseph Asworth.

Isaac - keeping the biblical theme - and Matilda. Martha would be nice too, along the same lines. Esther?

suwoo · 27/11/2009 23:20

Ashworth Durr.

Lovely names! my favourites from your list are Felix and Matilda.

Biblical name I have earmarked for potential DS is Amos, already have DD Tabitha (meaning Felix is out of the running for me as people may think I have a feline fixation)

pussycatmomma · 27/11/2009 23:37

its funny as Kitty has always been a nickname of mine, and my nieces and nephews all still call me Auntie Kitty!!! Not my real name or anything remotely like it, but I do love it. If it hadnt have been my nickname for years I would have happily picked it.
Felix Oscar, would you believe it! Gorgeous boy that he is.
Dh not so keen on Imogen either, says it reminds him of a DH Lawrence novel.
lockets....yes ds very aware of a baby inside my tum, has started patting his own tummy when lieing down for a nappy change and says "baby!"
Also lifts my top up at every opportunity and tells the world at large "baby!" "Sleeping" "AAAAAH!" and patting my tummy rather forcefully
omg I really cant wait, I am a lucky lady. As for relaxing in the last few weeks of preg, im rubbish at that im afraid! Cant stop my manic list making, and tomorrow im going to fettle the garden! mother thinks im beyond crackers. But im so busy with ds anyway, going to groups and toddlers and stuff, i think it makes sense to keep busy. Makes it go quicker. And besides, Ive already cleaned the kitchen cupboards more thoroughly than theyve been done since I was preg last time, and ive got my eye on tackling the grout in the bathroom with a bottle of bleach and a toothbrush.
oh please let this be the final throws of nesting !!!!
I feel the onset of hysteria! calm yourself woman and concentrate on the blummin names..................

Nancy is very pretty, but dont think I could do the alliteration (is that the word? sorry its late!) with the 2 "N" names. Edie reminds me of a)Desperate housewives character and B) the name Eddie, which is both my father and father in laws name. Too close for comfort I think. I really appreciate your suggestions though!
Thanks for your kind words about ds. He looks so different now though, but still a proper smiley little boy.
I know we are on about names here, but could you tell me really how hard it is with your second??????? have visions of me disappearing into a fog of some sort and not coping, but at the same time, feel so excited and cant wait.
Think I am just getting nervous.
Hope I have enough love to go round so that I dont have to feel like i am skimping on ds iykwim?? He is still my baby. Does that sound strange? I dont want to replace him. I dont want him to feel like he suddenly has to be a "big boy" when he is still only so little.
Gosh sorry i really must be hormonal....

For a girl, I love Alice Matilda Amelie.

I would go for Isaac Felix James for a boy. Felix and Oscar together is too Odd Couple.

Hope all goes well.

bellissima · 28/11/2009 08:40

Best wishes for Tuesday!

Oscar and Alice.

Not Amelie ('Kylie of the Noughties' (some other MNer not me!) - but agree will date horribly.

muminthemiddle · 28/11/2009 09:39

I like Oscar best followed by Felix (know a very annoying Isaac so a no-no for me I'm afraid.)
Alice is nice and Imogen, don't get Matilda at all although it is very popular in my neck of the woods.
