I think (sorry) that practically everyone will pronounce it Myla.

Wags · 21/11/2009 13:17

I just said Myla Hazel in my head. Actually prefer Myla. Think Hazel is lovely.

Buntytea · 21/11/2009 13:42

Are you thinking Milla Jovovich because the full length of the name, Milica, is really pretty. I'm not sure about Myla because it just makes me think of over priced 'bedroom accessories' after the shop!

I thought it was pronounced miller. I think she will have a lifetime of mispronounciations and having to spell it. I like Hazel though

TabithaTwitchet · 21/11/2009 14:01

I think Mila is very cute, and has a nice meaning in Slavic languages - dear or beloved.

sophiesmummie · 21/11/2009 16:22

I'd pronounce it Mee-la and really like it! People will get used the preferred pronounciation.

nooka · 22/11/2009 01:06

It's my nieces name, and it is pronounced like miller. My niece is absolutely gorgeous but personally I think it's a bit of a truncated name, and would be better as a shortening for Camilla or any of the Slavic "mila' names, Emilia, Ludmila etc. There are quite a few Arabic names that end in mila too.

I have a 2 daughter called Milla (pronounced meela) so obviously I love it.

We have always had really good comments about it.

It does sometimes get pronounced miller sometimes which bugs me a bit and I did wonder of i should have only used 1 L and gone with your spelling to prevent this, butI guess then we would have got the myla pronounciation instead.

People very quickly learn the correct pronounciation.

Have only ever met one other little girl with the same name and she was gorgeous too! Bizaarly her sister has the samwe name as Milla's twin!
