My DH wants this for our next girl - if we have one. What do you all think? I can't decide if it's pretty or a bit bland.

never heard of it before but it doesn't grab me so yes probably a bit bland. Makes me think of Nadine but without the N is that how you pronounce it?

Yes, that's how it's pronounced. The New Zealand netball captain is called Adine, and that's where DH is from, so guess that's where he got it. (She's pretty famous over there - and very pretty so guess that's why he likes it {wink}

I haven't heard of Adine either but I don't like the sound of it I'm afraid. Adeline is very pretty though.

I think many people seeing "Adine" written down in the UK would think that there had been a typo and that it was "Nadine". Nadine is a nice name - do you like it?

It's actually Irish: Étaín in old spelling, Aideen in a more common Anglicised spelling. She's a fairy princess in medieval Irish literature, if you like that sort of thing.
