Ezra

I love this name but DH says it sounds 'foreign'.

I am 31 weeks and i am not kidding when i say this had better be a girl as DH likes NO boys names!!

So...what do you think of Ezra?

It makes me think of an old American guy sitting on his porch.

I like the name.

There were 2 children sitting next to me on a train last summer, with an American mother called Ezra and Tilda.

I know an Ezra. He's a lovely boy and it's a lovely name - Jewish Old Testament prophet. Lovely.

A dear friend of mine is called Ezra, he's Ethiopian and one of the loveliest, kindest people you could meet.

Very Turkish sounding to my ears.

dd's best friend is called Ezra, except at first, the way she pronounced it sounded like 'Ezhwa'. cute. does make me think of Ezra Pound though. not like he was all bad.

We liked the name Ezra, I think it's lovely.

I'd probably choose a single syllable middle name. Ezra James is gorgeous!

Love Ezra Pound's poetry (OK, not so much the political opinions ) but to be honest, it's one of the few names I really, really dislike. But so what - if you like it, it's all that matters.

Though, on the other hand, 'Ezra James' sounds an awful lot better than 'Ezra Pound', so possibly it's one of these names that is quite dependent on surname?

Argh, I give up. Who thinks that Ezra Pound was really mad?

I have to admit i am suprised, i thought i would be the only one who liked it - will use this as further ammo for DH!

I quite like Ezra - also like Eli for a boy...

We were going to call dd Ezra (we called the bump Ezzie through most of the pregnancy as we were convinced she was going to be a boy). So obviously I think it is a fab name. We did decide that we'd go for Richard Ezra as his full given name, just in case it was too much (my father is known by his middle name for similar reasons).

Ezra is lovely. I know a cute 4 year old. Hope you can persuade dh .
