Milo or Edward?

I love so many boys' names but these are the only two I can imagine myself with.

I have two sons, Finn and Louis and feel that Milo goes really well with Finn and Edward goes brilliantly with Louis!

Is Edward too boring? Milo too trendy?

Which do you prefer?

Isn't Milo a Tweenie?

I like Edward a lot.

mathanxiety · 01/11/2009 21:31

Prefer Milo with your other names. Edward has a very Anglo Saxon sound, whereas Milo, Louis and Finn don't.

Brightfield · 01/11/2009 21:44

Thanks, I hadn't looked at it from that angle. I always put Louis and Edward together because of the obvious royal link.

I much prefer Edward. I love the nn Ned too.

LynetteScavo · 01/11/2009 21:46

I love them both.

Take a look at him when he's born and see if he looks more like an Edward or a Milo.

Actually I think I might like Milo slightly better, (Would have used it for DS1, but DH had other ideas) DD would have been Edward if she were a boy.

Singed · 01/11/2009 21:59

Edward.

Milo is a Tweenie or a malted drink.

liliputlady · 01/11/2009 22:13

Edward Milo sounds great!

suwoo · 01/11/2009 22:17

I love Milo and it was really high on my list for DS2, but just couldn't get over the Tweenie connection.

We went for Felix, which has many negative connotations of its own though

Brightfield · 01/11/2009 22:42

I'm not fussed about the Tweenie or milk drink links.

Suwoo I love Felix too and it has been top of my list at times.

i like milo better than edward i think but like the others have said it just reminds me of the tweenies too much. think about what each one will get shortened to by his friends when he gets to school because u will probably prefer the nicknames of one to the other

ReneRusso · 01/11/2009 22:45

I really like them both, Edward has a little more gravitas, but you can't go wrong with either.

Edward is a lovely name with lots of options for nicknames.

Milo is a hot drink and also has associations with the worst children's TV programme ever.

So Edward everytime

mathanxiety · 02/11/2009 00:43

James and Charles are also royal, and both go well with Finn and Louis -- better than Edward, imo.

QueenMercury · 02/11/2009 08:19

Edward is a fab name as are all the nn that go with it, Ned, Ted, Ed, Eddie.

diddl · 02/11/2009 11:54

I prefer Milo.
In fact,I think Milo Edward sounds good.

I also think that Milo suits the names you already have.
